So yes, I just bought a couple beers. But it was fucking exciting.
And when your normie friend asked you how that all worked you pointed them to about 10+hrs of video tutorials and several links to suppliers just for the how... Yeah, we're early... And you're earlier than most.

Zeus does it via lnd connect, which there's an option for on the web interface.
You can self host on your own node for free or you can cloud host for a monthly fee.
If you have start 9 or umbrel just download the app on it and follow the steps 👍

Nice! I know how you feel. I just bought 3 donuts at a coffee shop in Portland Maine, using my Zues wallet, connected to my lightning node running on my Start9 server. That was my second LN purchase and it happened this past Saturday
The cashier had been working there a year and I was the first BTC customer. The owner had to come out from the back and we had to do a lot of math to get the USD to sats conversion. I also had to have my sister restart my start9 an hour earlier as my Zues app would not connect. So still some technical difficulties to smooth out. But yeah…. Hell Yeah!

You can install Alby Hub over LND and open/manage channels there, which is easier than in LND.
@BTC Sessions has a great video about it.
Free if you host it, subscription to use their hosting.

Yeah my LND connect has been giving me tons of trouble. Been super disappointed.
@Bitcoin Mechanic has said it works fantastic for him. I just get constant disconnects, and the past 3 weeks it’s almost nothing but random RPC errors for seemingly no reason.
I got same setup with Alby Go and S9 living in ES

I’ll investigate again when I get back, sessions was saying he was getting the same thing until Albyhub, but it’s connecting with the same tool. Seems like it’s likely something weird with whatever service that’s running it rather than LND connect specifically.
I know this feeling. At the 4 day German BTC Event "Zitadelle" me and my son paid everything with Zeus connected via LNC restricted accounts from our home node. Only bad internet connection was annoying sometimes.
