In n out is the perfect fast food cheeseburger and it isn’t even close. East coasters in heavy denial over this one.

I think they’re pretty consistent. Haven’t had one from Texas though. That’s a bit far from home.

Finally something we can agree on.
Guilty pleasure of mine as well. That’s usually my go to move in airports. Nothing like paying $24 for a double whopper during a layover lol
I sometimes like to push the buttons of my foodie friends by pointing out that their favourite burger places charge 5x as much for some sort of reimagined bullshit that's ruined with stuff that doesn't belong on a hamburger. And it tends to only gets worse from there. Reminds me of shitcoins vs. Bitcoin, the simple, straightforward, well executed version is clearly the best, but it's hard to get rich quick off things like "simple" and "straightforward" πŸ˜‚
I don't classify In N Out with regular fast food. It's in a whole other class.
I tried both In n Out and Whataburger when visiting Texas for the first time last November. Both knock everything us east coasters have out of the park. I actually preferred Whataburger's burgers overall, but In n Out's simplicity and consistency makes them just as good in different ways. Plus, the atmosphere of their restaurants is immensely appealing.
Gulf Coasters have Whataburger. We are missing nothing. Greatest memories as a child involved getting some cash and swinging by the Brooks Bridge Whataburger and getting lunch for the crew while my dad and uncle pulled the boat out of the public launch. I’d always eat the fries on the way home, covered in salt, scales and grime. It’s a vibe, and I’m so excited for my son to experience the same thing.

Shake shack is good too but it’s a little more expensive and less convenient so I’ll still stick with in n out

We have Whataburger too in the west. It’s good but in n out is better. There is a 24 hour one I go to sometimes when in n out is closed
After visiting In n Out for the first time this year, I think it's highly overrated. I'll take a A&W cheeseburger over In n Out, any day.
I had in n out the other day and was looking at the sign saying they were 30Β’ per cheeseburger in 1948 and $3.98 today. 1948: $35 an oz of Gold which can buy 116 Cheeseburgers. 2024: $2500 an oz of Gold which can buy 632 Cheeseburgers. Priced in gold cheeseburgers are 82% cheaper! When you realize FIAT is a meaningless measure, you see that the world is getting better all the time.
Couldn't agree more. Nothing compares to double-double animal style.
