We've been laughing about the Nostr bear market for a while now. But the old saying holds: you can't go up until you find a bottom. Look around. Funding dried up for some or the future isn't certain. There has been privacy conversations and arguments. Multiple takedown requests were issued to relay operators. An anonymous user was doxxed. I don't think we can go much lower. The only direction left is up. So focus on what counts: real human connections (the rest of social media isn't building for that) and nailing your fundamentals (your app isn't ready for mainstream without them). Human connections. Sign-in. Search. Tagging. You've got this.

I see so much building happening right now there's no way nostr dies. Everyday I see all these people working on new apps and services. Nostr will adapt and evolve, and new users will come for their own reasons. I think it will always be fringe, but a lot more people are going to join the fringe in the next few years.
thank you, but i still feel that im at a loss for words for some of these actions right now. so, im staying positive and focusing on the aspects of this ecosystem that we can directly change and improve.
building and better technology don't always win though. that's a proven fact throughout history. we must nurture and facilitate this ecosystem.
that's been my strat. i don't aggressively market people to use products or services. i use what i like to use, i tell people about it in a passionate way. people like that im nice to them and passionate. they use what i evangelize because they like me and trust me. it's all about osmosis or maybe it's a by-product of the relationship we build together.

So if I was irresponsible and lost the private keys to this NPub is now a good time to burn it down and start a new NPub or just keep it rolling until I can't sign in View quoted note →
I believe that the extent to which Nostr fell are yet to be fully revealed. But, it’s part of the phase. Purge, adapt, continue.
The squeeze is coming from every direction simultaneously. Financial. Cultural. The continued collapse of institutions. A culture that spent a decade trying to confuse men about who they are and what they’re for. The people who didn’t buy it and are still trying to build real households and raise kids who can stand on their own are quietly finding each other here. That’s more valuable than any protocol debate IMO. Don’t lose it chasing noise.

I look for signal, not noise. We are winning, don't fall for the FUD. 🫡
Hahaha 🤣 I am only laughing because I've hit rock bottom and have had those same thoughts... You can only go up from here... But it appears the bottom keeps dropping. I don't agree with "I don't think we can go much lower". There is so much more room before Nostr actually hits rock bottom. It's a delusion thinking we've reached the bottom. Seriously. I am not being confrontational. Just realistic. Also, NOSTR is in no way building for real human connection. Maybe your new app has that in mind by quietly harvesting feedback from the field. But that's not what I have seen in the last couple years as expressed in my notes. As you know. Most builders here do NOT know what human connection actually is. Also, credit to sources of inspiration also always tend to strengthen connection vs. creating relational field tension.

Assuming the long time core user base doesn't mostly leave, I think things will be better in 3-5 years. Because all the other platforms will be so KYC'd and awful. All in the name of "safety". That dynamic will bring more people here than anything else in my humble opinion.
What’s that old saying.. if you don’t have haters, you’re doing it wrong. Keep on Nostr’ing !
I'm here for the freedom tech, people suck. Except most of y'all. Please don't bring all the shitty people here. Thanks.
