Good morning Sir! Keep the fight 💪
🤣 Well said! No need to put anyone on a pedestal. I personally love the way Saylor thinks most of the time, but that doesn’t mean he won’t trip up here and there, nobody’s perfect. In the end, we’re all just humans, trying not to mess things up… too much.

Then there are a group of people that don't even have anything to self-custody.

If you mess up you can alway self reflect and say sorry. I made a boo boo. It did not seem like an accidental slip of the tongue. It seemed like bottled up resentment. Remember Saifedean.

It’s time to start calling custodial bitcoin paper bitcoin. It’s just a “paper” claim anyway

Looks like alien technology. Cool.
In my view Saylor is speaking intentionally specific audiences. His comments do not deter Bitcoiners, and he knows this. His comments assuage fiat while simultaneously motivating Bitcoiners. Well played imo.
self custody is one of the most important aspect of this new tech: bring it on!

What Saylor said about the confiscation of gold really gets me and leads to a wider point, which I struggle with a lot when I comes to self custody. Assuming you self custody Bitcoin and the govt declares it illegal to hold bitcoin, what do you do now? Yes you have your bitcoin, but now you are taking massive legal risk holding onto it. If you live in a chaotic state, i can see a reason to leave, but lets assume its US (in current social status) and you have a family and yes economocally things are falling apart which may lead to unrest but there is no place in the world you would rather go either (personal view of this exercise). Realistically I feel most people would turn in the bitcoin due to the level of punishments which would be associated with not doing so. So in this case, whats the difference between self custody and custodial? Curious what you think

With Self custody you have an option ( not to comply) Latter : you don't
If he puts the fear into people, like he talked about, they'll dump their BTC to buy an ETF. When they dump the price drops. Guess who buys it up? Notice how this comes when the price is up? Remember when J Diamond talked shit before buying a bunch for himself? I think it's just self serving. He has to know the 'they never seized anyone's gold' line was a bunch of BS half truth.
He has said many many times, “buy Bitcoin. don’t sell your Bitcoin.” This is good advice, sincerely given, I think. Anyway, he is not the ceo of Bitcoin. He has a view just like everyone else. I think he is dialed in to the community enough to know that ODELL and other bitcoin cultural leaders will not fall for the headfake. Fiat people will be appeased, and Bitcoiners will be resolute. Staying humble, :-)

If you choose the latter that’s a bold step which rarely leads to good outcomes for anyone esp if you have been KYC’ed. Though I understand and agree with self custody it’s not the easiest of positions to be holding onto something the govt doesn’t want you to have
