Asking for a friend who cares about price, did we just flatline?

Searched dog the other day on the phone and this pic came back, taken of a photo dating back to maybe 1989-90 era of a dog I had when we was a puppy. Today is 23 years since I went with my mother to put him down and weirdly I wasn’t sad at all. He had lived his best life, the final 6 months after my first dog was put down, he played his part in training the new puppy to be a good dog so after that, his job was done, we said goodbye and that was it. I then attempted to replace him with a dog that was pretty much his Doppleganger, which wasn’t fair on that dog, big boots to fill (and fate showed that was not the right decision). Looking back on when he was a puppy, I never thought about the character I was getting and how important a part of my life or how I would be ALL of his life, when they are just a small beast, peeing on your aunt with excitement or digging a hole in the front lawn when you didn’t come back from the hospital after “that bike ride” didn’t resonate as they maybe could have. I’ve run the math and technically he was the best dog I’ve owned, engineers gotta engineer, but at the same time he was the family’s dog, so when he was gone we mourned him as a family, so could get over it. Other dogs, not so much. The world may be going to shit, your other half may be getting brain washed by social media, your job may suck, but realise, somewhere in the future, there is a timeline where you head to a farm, and there are little bundles of joy there that will one day be you favourite thing in the world. Surely that can put a smile on your face and makes the future a little brighter. And your life companion doesn’t always have to have 4 legs. Miss you buddy.

How it feels when raising questions about how the other half is parenting……..

Gm nostriches, happy Saturday, went downstairs and greeted with the cats having got the mouse that spent yesterday under the fridge out, and then under the vacuum cleaner. He took the little Blighter outside and I took it away from the Jaws of death. Back to the fun days of UK politics, so much pandemonium for the original £5m donation, so actually love that a donor has said “that’s not enough, reform need more money” so the establishment are even more up in arms about these donations from shady rich people using tech they don’t like…….. now if it can be kept above board, maybe this is just a signal the rich people are beginning to “take up arms” to fight for the soul of our country (because they would like it if we couldn’t control out money let along have actual weaponry to defend our liberty). BBC and liberal lefty elites in disbelief!!!! After my ongoing dealings with HMRC, feeling that viewing such a donation compared to having my money forcibly removed from me would be a better use of my money…….. we cannot complain about our country being raped (in so very many ways) if we don’t do something about it. The HMRC and the Labour government are an organised crime syndicate…….. prove me wrong!!! #coffeechain mousehunt kinda morning!!!

Happy loss of privacy and any dignity when travelling by plane day. ✈️ They will use or create an emergency to take ever more power and remove ever more freedom, and the lives lost along the way are simply a cost some people believe is worth paying.

Gm nostriches, day by day the mornings are getting darker, while most likely the result of the time of year, also a metaphor for the ever darkening financial antics of the world around us. At least there were a few early birds around to give a bit of a lighter sound track. Checking in on my favourite morning metrics, Japanese, US and UK 10y yields (checking before btc, but dollar value isn’t important, but also another signal), Japan just under 3, US just under 5, BUT UK screaming above 5.3% and a move from 5.1% earlier in the week. Borrowing just got 4% more expensive or with the debts they’re/we’re carrying, that is a cool additional £5.2 billion in interest expensive (if all debts were 10y, average duration actually higher, so could be a bigger increase as longer term bonds are worse)………… not wanting to come across as crass or anything but we’re fucked!

Was hoping for slightly more on the uk housing market @Peter McCormack, but the price rise being kneecapped by the stamp duty, even before considering the theft resulting from inflation really brought it home. The house held for 19 years i sold last year, with a compounded return of a mighty 1.6% without consider interest costs or work, while keeping under stamp duties, was further cut with a nice cap gains bill to go with it………. The economy is so shot you’ll never buy a house, but at least buying a house isn’t the financial prudent option anymore!!!! Love hearing from @Simon Dixon , get the kids competent with private keys and we could build a society that can survive the future!
