Some interesting writing to be done regarding the #bip110 implementation. Compliant blocks from large miners are an interesting sign, really wondering whether the Bitcoin holder masses need to put more money where their mouths are and splurge on some home mining equipment, so if worst comes to worst, we can all fire up some hashrate for when the corporate, fiat maxi miners run around with their tail between their legs not knowing which chain their fiat overlords want them to mine so the network can be maintained. The independent miner movement could be the progression of the “nodes have the power” of 2017. The corporate miners are forever fighting an unwinnable fight, fiat sustaining their ever reducing revenue. The grass roots miners have no such bind, they mine for heat, they mine to secure the network, they mine to add the blocks/transactions they want added. There will be books written about this, blockwars 2.0, Spam wars, The Bitcoin holders strike back? Who knows, but looking out for a miner myself.

Ga nostriches, after some interesting #bip110 commentary from @jimmysong , thought I’d return to a Nov 2025 pod with @Cedricyoungelman , the foresight on this was wild and can’t give enough credit to them both for exploring this, sounding the alarm before so many were fully aware and it became quite so existential. “We need to smash core” or at least show them that if they make changes the nodes runners don’t like, they won’t get eternal Glory (a), they will have some find somewhere else to sell their services.

Gm nostriches, happy Saturday, looking like another beautiful day outside, some more ladder based fun to be had, finally finished painting the house white to find “one more patch”, then some wood that needed attention and some more trees that needed trimming, compared to desk work, this is my happy place, but the body says “day of rest, day of rest” “Pride parade” taking place in Nottingham today, honestly thought pride month was way back when…….. probably going to get in hot water for not donning my rainbow shirt and joining in. I’ve seen the look in those council office workers’ eyes, dancing on the back of a lorry. They are there because they have no choice, volunteer or face a visit from HR, that is not freedom of choice. Wish me luck freaks.

Another awesome @Daniel Prince pod with @Luke de Wolf, #bip110, not a classic intelligence test, but maybe a proof of work test for all those node runners polishing their self sovereignty halos, without really asking why. Have you actually explored what it is and what it might do and what not updating might do. Ngl, the chain split is a concern but it has happened before and will likely happen again, it may happen but what is important is how everyone learns from the experience. The risk management perspective for the public miners can’t be overlooked (Luke’s the man for this). Is your profitability where @OCEAN ‘s is? if not, you’re neglecting your fiduciary duty and also introducing risks of mining on an orphaned chain, also those could happen either way, but cutting out bit op_return would just reduce this risk. Finally, very low brow, but the whole “it’s a database” crowd, why are they so keen on storing non financial data on the proof of work chain?

One thing that was certainly established was Craig Wright is not Satoshi, but also the emergence of new “prophets” that could be Satoshi strangely mirrors the idea that Bitcoin in a way is similar to other religions where new prophets emerge and profess that they have the “true message of God/Satoshi”. Also, stay humble, don’t let your Bitcoin religion become too dogmatic, stay open to new ideas, while to Socio part (Hayes 2019) may determine how Bitcoin can integrate with our lives, underneath it all, while important, it is still simply better money, and what we build upon that base it was is most important.
