At some point you must look at stocks and look for the real return not just nominal. And truth is we are told a lie about the true inflation (ex this ex that) and then are suppose to trust the nominal and real numbers we are fed by the govt. Like the saying goes “don’t trust, verify” Stop listening to the macro analysts and verify your own experience with inflation and then decide if you think your returns have kept pace with inflation.
