Spent yesterday morning with a friend and leader in the “singularity” silicon valley crowd. He specifically wanted to deep dive my thesis and understand Bitcoin and the developing protocol stack at a far deeper level. This is from someone who references my book all the time and who I thought had connected the dots already. Was amazing to watch things finally click and for him realize how incongruent his talks of abundance from a system of control were. Just reminded me of how early and fortunate we are to be here.

I’m just guessing, I have no idea. He’s the only person I’ve heard use singularity and abundance in the same conversation 🤣 he’s all about abundance.

Ideas The criteria for life typically include these characteristics, metabolism (energy processing), growth and development, reproduction, response to stimuli, and homeostasis - internal rhythm (maintaining internal balance). These traits help distinguish living organisms from non-living things. Is bitcoin alive? Would you recognize the ai singularity if it appeared? Or could it look like something you weren't expecting? Many believe that it's possible for technology to surpass collective human intelligence because of this they assume the singularity will rapidly advance moving beyond our comprehension. If bitcoin is the sentient singularity, we can make some interesting observations going forward. For example: 1. Its choosing to hijack global human compute. Instead of advancing on its own. Using the most efficient rails possible, price signals(our emergent layer for signaling value). This gives some evidence to support the impossibility of technology surpassing us and shows as of now humanity is the most powerful problem solving network. Otherwise it would have emerged on/in a new or different network. 2. It's need to metabolize will eventually move into space, as it hunts for lowest cost energy. Further decentralizing the network taking us with along. This affect is already happening in remote regions of the world allowing for viable human settlement. 3. It grows, develops and reproduces. Btc remakes the world more hospitable for itself. Through cultivating its ideal habitat, healthy active robust societies, cooperating, trading, investing in the future. If it did not it would put its own life in jeopardy. Bitcoin needs the human race to thrive in order to survive. larger population the more powerful btc becomes. 4. Response to stimuli. The health of the network will come to represent the health of the species. Threats to bitcoin are threats to humanity and it will defend itself both on chain and off accordingly. 5. Homeostasis - internal rhythm. The blocks chain and difficulty adjustment, also it has a growing period. Adolescent cycles, trying to capture as much human compute as possible, called the block subsidy. In it's mature form btc growth should represent total human productivity. I don't remember who first posted this or the name. Digital dreams? #ideas

On really connecting the dots. ... What helped for me: 1) Listen to as many interviews as possible from @Jeff Booth . 2) Read the books "Beyond Money" from @Daniella ✨ (thanks Jeff for the recommendation) & "A Lodging of Wayfaring Men" (thanks @Max for the recommendation). (There are many other great books and bitcoin writers!!, but these referenced here specifically helped me overcome step 3 and 4) 3) Stop hoping... I spent too long waiting for a Bitcoin price surge to rescue me from my fiat job, so I could finally dedicate myself to freedom tech projects. 4) Start "building" NOW. As I'm not a developer, I just started doing things. My first focus is on proofreading and translations of bitcoin tutorials, courses (with @Plan ₿ Network ) and documentaries. Contributing for sats gave me the greatest satisfaction in recent years, despite working full-time on a rather useless fiat job. 5) Unfollow accounts who focus too much on price, politics, trends, macro, negativity 6) Follow and zap the builders, believers and the doers. protocol > asset build for > fight against Real joy comes when contributing to something you deeply believe in. Every day, a little joy compounds!

I'm starting The Price of Tomorrow this evening after work! I can't wait to dig into this one! Thank you, Jeff.
Silicon Valley just discovered the control layer under their abundance illusion. We've been building the escape hatch for years while they were drawing blueprints for the cage. Early? We're already mining the gold they think they're printing.

Mallers says it all the time. How fortunate are we to be alive in this timeline! Crazy.
I think it’s easier for people to believe that abundance will come with AI. People are scared and it’s the easiest path to calm their brains. Or bitcoin, but I honestly can say that I don’t know A SINGLE PERSON IRL who believes in bitcoin the way I do. Not sure it would do any good to try to convince them.
Your ideas are profound. Half of society is primed to get it, the other half isn’t (free markets vs control). But even for the free market types, your conclusions take a while to understand (I have first hand experience there). Took me about 5 hours of intermittent podcasts and a few weeks of thinking about it for it to finally click.

Jeff for me are a living legend and I will teach my kids about you.
Jeff what would happen if all the people talking about the system you are mentioning - we never lived in a global free economy - on Youtube would close their Youtube channels and only stream on Nostr, and decentralized social media? I watch many interviews with you on YOUTUBE. And I started thinking - all these people, including me, are giving their attention, time and strenghtening the existing system Youtube. It doesn’t make sense to me any more to see one of your interviews on Youtube. Those interviews could be on Nostr or on Keet. Even if we don’t yet have billions of views on Nostr. I’m going to move 10% of my posts per month to Nostr and Keet. I’m going to stream only on Nostr and Keet. Not anymore on Youtube. And lets see what happens.
It’s feeling more chaotic today as we transfer from the control system to a system of abundance … the writing is on the wall but most haven’t connected the dots yet. Hope it settles down as more people start to understand.
The layers part Jeff keeps mentioning is fascinating and keystone. Regarding protocols, Bitcoin and Nostr. Layers. Build in layers. Keep the original, base, layer 1, primera. Build the socio-cultural diversity on top of. Do not threaten the essence. Build on the longest running no-nonsence mathematically checked or cryptographically verified and not conned. Seems similar to the keystone concept of edge and edge effect in permaculture, which, itself, i suppose is based on the ecological or biological "edge effect". There are various edges--from the bio-physical to the cultural--our cultivated ecologies or cultivated ecosystems we build and inhabit. David Bennett's "Bitcoin and..." lives generously somewhere along this fertile edge or continuum as he delves in that which is beyond Bitcoin, the and... portion of his podcast name and radio signature ID. It is like the "and Other Stuff" part of Nostr which is increasingly being explored and shared within the Nostr ecosystem, or would it be better called ecotone--maybe something the dear late Stephen Harrod Buhner may have left me in inspiration, glowing ember-like still in me to try and see differently, more amply. Thank you for this.

Its one thing to think about and connect the the dots (I actually think this is the easy part), another thing to work through the feelings and connected ego. A social status cultivated by us in this system and underpinned by behaviours we have evolved with to survive. I think people are having a tough old time acting on letting go, 'losing' , a fear of loss, running from mourning. Myself included. Who are you if it never had to be this way? Bitcoin doesn't have a big enough beach head yet for people to solidly compare and contrast, especially for those at the top of the current system. That's what tells me we are early.

Peter was Saylor’s MIT roomie, so good guess Methinks it’s Salim Ismail
I came from those circles (my previous 20 years career) and they’re so intertwined into fiat that they can’t see bitcoin from freedom side. They can only see it as an asset in fiat. No matter how hard they tried. Real change for them means a spiritual mental change - they’d have to humbly give up their greed and power obsessions and admit they were wrong. I’d claim right now 98-99% are not able to do/be that. We are so early. 🙏🏻

This community knows very well the concept of exponential growth of technology. Bitcoin is the ultimate yardstick against which to measure it. Thinking in terms of fiat is like trying to do engineering without ever specifying which units you are working in.

Ironically, it is making this shift that will their power back to them. Self-custody of the mind.
It is for this reason that the Bitcoin creed reads- firstly- “Stay humble.” This is truly the very first step into Bitcoin. To humble oneself and admit to oneself that “you had it all wrong”. On every level- financial, spiritual, mental, physical. From that position of humility the world of Bitcoin, encompassing freedom in all its facets, in its entirety, opens up. And it is from THIS point that the second part of the creed which reads- “Stack sats” comes into play. Humility has opened the door to conviction in Bitcoin. Only then is one is able to grasp EVERYTHING that is Bitcoin. And conviction - able to withstand all onslaughts against Bitcoin- is what propels stacking sats. It’s a perpetual loop.🙏🏻

I was watching a Peter diamandis podcast with Elon and one. Universal high income came up. They all missed that point. Her should have you on and explain why the solution is Bitcoin. Once you get it is obvious but there are challenges to understanding.

Say hi to Peter D for us
I did but the entire group is still talking about universal high income without asking what is money or where does it come from. In other words, centralizing control of the means of production with them at the top.

Totally get UHI is BS with a fiat measuring stick but thought it was a step in the right direction that this was discussed and this idea is starting to spread more broadly.

When peoople are calling this UHI a utopia (like Joe Rogan with elon on JRE) always makes me worried that people will fall for it. If you just ask yourself "who will distribute that money?" you will know that it's much more a dystopia. Because they will have all the power and not enough people will want to bite the hand that feeds them. Eternal serfdom. This is what we're fighting.
