GM #nostr - Bit nervous about getting up and doing stuff today as my back went bad on me three times yesterday and I had to lay out, once at a mates, once at church and once at another mates. Bloody awkward, and embarrassing having to lay down on the floor and wait for ten or 15 minutes. Apparently chiropractors are my best bet. Anyone else think they're worth the money? I'm still wary of paying someone to turn me in to a piece of living origami.

I have a similar issue, DDD, being tall with a Buddha belly doesn’t help either 😅. I got an inversion table and that helps relieve the pressure, that’s about the extent I am willing to go. When I am dealing with my back, letting someone start cracking and twisting me does not sound like a good solution, one wrong move and you’re paralyzed. Same reason I won’t go under the knife to have my disks fused. I do have a trick that may help you, it got me through many days at work when I didn’t think I could stay standing. Take a tennis ball and put it between you and a wall and start moving up and down until you get it in the right position, then just start going up and down. It’s not a permanent fix but it may get you through those embarrassing moments.

Misalignments are helped by the back cracking but after that you gotta fix the cause of the cramps, the spinal compression screws up the signals, so it helps at first, but my experience has been that the muscle weakness is caused by kidney damage associated with hyperglycemia.

Read “Back Mechanic”, it can help you get to functional, there can be lots of causes for back pain. Once you are out of urgent pain, check out Knees over toes guy back exercise program to overcome fear of using your back again. Good luck. And I would not suggest a chiropractor.

Lactose is the only sugar which often does not get broken into galactose/glucose clumping as a soluble fiber also. I found that uht the sugars are degraded and I put on a lot of weight. Pasteurized doesn't

Have you tried stretching that focuses on your back? Then you progress to "tai chi" for beginners. It helps your balance slowly and improve your breathing which distresses you. Once you feel comfortable you can move on to moderate. After that is start with yoga for beginners whilst continuing the tai chi. You'll be surprised gow much it improves your back. It may help if you check your bed and matress that supports your back properly. Get well soon and let us know how you get on ☺️🫂🙏

In the event he was pretty good, he told me that all that painful origami stuff wouldn't help, it was quite simple realignment of the pelvis, now I have to deal with the inflammation around the entire bottom 5 vertebrae. It definitely ain't fun. Every time it goes atm is moving from sitting to standing, its a nightmare tbh, as it keeps me nervous about every movement.

Bloody hell, that sounds awful - I've been quiet and done next to nothing to day because I'm too nervous to cause the pain - although while it temporarily causes excruciating pain, it passes quickly once I lay down. The sort of pain which causes you to be sick is something I could do without.

It’s a process from where you are at. Step 1: get stable. Learn how to reduce the amount of spine usage in day to day life to allow it to heal. Combine with very safe exercises to improve stability. This is covered in the book Back Mechanic, but you can also find lots of info on YouTube. Look for McGill Big 3 and spine hygiene. Step 2: Get comfortable and do the exercises for a few months. Use lumbar supports. Get walking consistently without pain. Step 3: Very slowly and carefully reintroduce strength to the back and lower body to billet proof you going forward. This is where I like Knees over toes guy because every exercise he shows has a regression that even a grandmother can do safely.
