Makes me realize. I built community for a decade and a half... Real people, human faces, familiarity, deep sharings, heart to heart connections, deep conversations, debates, engagement, shared experiences, empathy, compassion, understanding, belonging...
...then I ditched it for this?!?!?! At least I know I will get a fucking GM from the GM Nostr bot.

I prefer quiet and genuine connection. But I understand reach can matter. (When I advocated for Assange's freedom, reach was important to me too. But on the day he was freed, FB, X and all that suddenly lost meaning.)

I’ve had similar to yours’ following on Twitter, a business Instagram account and lots of engagement on FB. Do I miss any of them? Not at all, when I realised it’s all pretend theatre that makes you constantly angry, anxious and genuinely wastes your time and brain cells. I have frequent chats with my best friends and relatives without having to entertain them daily with selfies or deep philosophical shit on social media. And on Nostr I shitpost with lots of retarded anons who I’ve never met but they feel closer to my worldview than 95% of the friends I made in school, university or work. Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for today.
Interesting, I found Meta had the opposite effect for me, I’d have probably topped myself had I stayed in that ecosystem.
That said, I hope things improve for you soon.

I’ve been mentioning this, Nostr’s current incentives are either not to post, or to spam the network.
And I can attest spamming the network is a more effective method since I’ve seen people who don’t even follow me, and probably in some cases have me muted complain, or talk about stuff I’ve specifically posted.
We need more tools like one per follow to incentivize engagement, and interactions.

I understand the feeling come over here seems like no community building not really and no human connection. I believed this space was about building something real and sovereign. But they forgot Sovereign still means human and community building , while building something so much greater to where others want to join the crusade.

There's no shame in going back to Facebook if you are getting better reach and it helps your business. If it's simply a validation thing tho, then deeper digging may be required
I think men are more used to thinking out loud and getting nothing back but a change of subject or nothing at all. Women can't handle it, they crave attention. They want to suck people into their crisis of the moment. Men aren't going to react well to that kind of content.

It is something to think about. We can build anonymous, permission less networks, but building trust and human connection requires something else. Nostr could benefit from a more closed way of sharing notes that will allow vulnerability and intimacy, so we are not pouring our hearts out into the void.
