If Bitcoin competes with Visa, MasterCard, and other transaction rails that the dollar relies on, it will eventually replace the underlying unit in those transactions as well. View quoted note →

Yes, it will. The SOV battle has been won. We need to keep building the ecosystem, to show by example, that Bitcoin is a MOE. Bitcoin is money. Use it as such.
In the end, I'm fine with keeping the inevitable ending to ourselves and letting the state think we're only trying to make "digital capital". image
Oh, you're there in person. 😂 Guess I might be the only person watching while seated atop an overturned 5 gallon bucket in a boiler room...
Eventually. But does it have to? I don't need to shave off a slice of gold at Starbucks... I have mixed feelings about it. In nations without the infrastructure of the U.S. bitcoin will 100% replace the dollar (or local currency).
I think that will not happen. #Bitcoin will take is the place of #gold, returning the ability to warehouse wealth to us those of the #plebs. (something that had forgotten and lost in time) The #dollar will continue as a reference currency for payments for a long time.
I’d say for some time rather than a long time. Money converges to one. Once people realize that they can trade the underlying as easily as the dollar, it will happen naturally.
Most people will leverage and use the dollar until they are told to do otherwise

Probably true. Although in the interim will be a transition where there will probably be a new US dollar that is backed by Bitcoin or some Bitcoin derivative.
For now Tether seems to replacing Bitcoin. At scale I'd assume that Monero will be the better and bigger MoE, while BTC can grow to become the gold replacement for governments.
Nah, the game is clear...get cheap money and convert it to hard...
Then americas money will no longer be under amarican control. Bitcoin is d ecentralized (wolrdwide, no borders, no nations, remember?)

Yes, it has to. The sooner the better. The fiat system is a black hole that is going to destroy us if we don't destroy it first.
Isn’t it already? The Us Federal govt is one of the largest holders of
