How is it so hard to understand that people here simply like nostr, and that you can’t force anyone to like something you made just because you say it is “better? User culture and adoption don’t care about claims of technical superiority. 😂

People who never loved won't ever understand why people love Nostr and will always come up with arguments like "but this is better, faster, prettier, etc.".
Nothing beats the excitement and authenticity of a grassroots organically growing community. Adoption numbers may not be trending the way people want at the moment, but for those who are still here, the passion and dedication to see it grow remain.

to whom it may concern, I find social media algorithms to be passive aggressive in the manner of a high school clique which believes that it must constantly remind one that there are better, hotter, more perfect humans than oneself to envy, neglecting that the algorithm itself merely reflects a reactive concoction of automated slop by strangers who likely do not know their their content is being used by a piece of code to send a message to the user about whether they are or are not behaving in alignment with the good graces of the algorithm's master. sincerely, 🦋

People who want more mainstream nostr adoption don’t understand the value of niche communities. Online communities get ruined when the normies show up. Look at Reddit.
I like #nostr because it reminds me of the beginnings of social networks. And I like it much more that I can choose to use Nostr, other times use X and other times use IG. ✅

In my experience, nostr is constantly getting better. There is no alternative.

Yeah, ditch all your friends and enjoy a brand new feed populated mainly by the brain farts of one narcissistic blowhard and an ever-present reply guy who built an entire persona around being ghosted by some chick who doesn’t remember he exists.
You don't have to convince me - I've just spent 16 hours trying to get ubuntu to recognise an internal keyboard of a laptop which works fine with windows. That's the price you have to pay to avoid the stale taste of Bill Gates seminal fluid in the back of your throat.
You nailed it on the head Fren. I’ve tried repeatedly to get NPCs to get involved and I just get comments that make zero sense and about how great whatever their favorite centralized social media platform is.
Now I’m kinda curious about this circle of midwits… are they able to remember their login info? 😂

Funny, I'm in the same situation with a brand new HP printer that just doesn't like Ubuntu But I'll rather spend the time working around it (or even getting rid of the printer) than subjugate myself to the windows/Mac experience again

Social Platforms are a place. NOSTR isn't a place. It's a way.
It honestly seems like pubkey is just regressed nostr from what I can tell. I don't have an invite link, but so far the only difference between nostr and what pubkey is claiming to be is that you have to be 18 to use pubkey. Which makes me wonder is pubkey just a bunch of porn and gambling? Someone mentioned you can't send zaps on pubkey either, can't confirm as no invite. I don't think nostr is perfect, but from what I can tell pubkey may be a step backwards from nostr.
It makes me less likely to even use Pubkey anymore. I don't want to put time into a researching it to talk to nostr naysayers. Might as well make the platform for nocoiners because I don't care they have to say about bitcoin either.
Will X still exist in 10 years? At this rate probably not. But I'm sure there will be enough dedicated people running their own relays that nostr will always survive.Reliable clients could become an issue in the future but the protocol itself, I believe in it and I believe enough other people believe even more strongly than I do. Like Bitcoin, the infrastructure is in the people's hands, as long as enough individuals take responsibility and run nodes and relays.
Kikes Niggers Gringos Chinks and whatever the collective slur for brown people is we are all just people we all feel, we all have hopes and dreams, we're all equally disposable to the ruling class. Let's not have petty race wars and fight amongst ourselves like fools.
Very quickly realising “i only post of X because I feel I have to for ‘my reach’”, then realise there was no reach and then go nostr only. 🫡🙌
