my dad came from a shithole country (trinidad) he was not a doctor or an engineer, he delivered pizzas to start, and our family received benefits for a long time. he had 5 kids 1 is an engineer, 2 are successful entrepreneurs, 1 is a poker player and 1 is a stay at home mom. Between all the kids we've paid back the benefits in taxes by at least 50x. In fact for 2025, myself alone will be paying more in tax than our entire family received since my dad got here. just some food for thought considering how demonized immigrants are right now, especially the browns. I think Canada made a good choice letting him in, but who knows

brown people are not westerners. they arent even real citizens... no matter how much mimicry, dress up and LARP they can bitterly muster. they are simply a weapon used by the forces of global tyranny, used to drag the free white men back onto the ancient Crown's plantation... thats the browns "legacy".... losers at home, destroyers of peace, harmony and liberty abroad. welcome LONG overstayed. #theymustgoback

No doubt there are more stories like that. But how many more are there where they are still collecting and not producing at all? We will never know.
Immigrants are vital, but also, there's such a thing as too much of an influx at once. Which incidentally isn't the fault of the immigrants, but is usually the fault of the monetary system, or other policy (like the damming of the rivers that turned Mexican farmland fallow a century ago). We should seek to conduct ourselves as a nation in such a way that doesn't force people to flood into our country out of desperation, leaving their families and homes behind, and then need to contend with the influx itself. We're paying on both ends, and blaming the people we victimize twice while those whose stock options and election prospects are on the rise are the actual culprits of the imbalances. The other ones victimized twice, incidentally, are the working class Americans often losing their jobs to the policies that go abroad and ultimately drive the immigration, who get to watch their kids unable to get jobs too. Keeping us at each other's throats is how those behind these trends maintan power. And damn lol if I keep this up I'll sound likes a socialist, except that I recognize these acts of foreign aggression as those carried out by unjust totalitarian power brokers. Capitalism isn't the problem, it is the solution. Externalization of costs isn't capitalism, it's theft of private property rights, and reappropriation of resources.

Most peoples opposition to immigrants aren't economic at it's core, but they lean on those justifications due to sourcefags

In your opinion if we add up all welfare recipients and their offspring is the sum still positive? And also the immigrants now are the same as when your dad emigrated? I'm curious to know Ihaver no opinion formed and you made a good point.
if I had to guess, based on nothing but personal experience, is that offspring of canadian born welfare recipients do worse than offspring of 1st generation immigrants.
This argument is moot to say the least. How are benefits paid? Do people actually paying them have any choice about subsidizing immigrants? Are, or are not, violence (taxes) and fraud (counterfeiting, as in inflation) used to make sure the state has enough to spend on immigrants? That once in a while the imported human material turns out to be a good investment is marginal and inconsequential, what does happen 100% of the time is productive individuals being extorted and defrauded of their wealth for choices they did not make.
My guess is that your dad was grateful for the opportunity & chance at a better life. The sense of entitlement among the youth (regardless of race) is quite different now. My parents immigrated to Australia when I was a baby, worked hard & never took a govt handout. They relied on my mother's parents to get their adult life started but only as much as they had to. What's a bit disturbing to me is the way in which African youth view white Australians. They look down on us as soft & weak while they take advantage of our socialistic policies. I don't blame them or have any animosity towards them but it's a little concerning to see our demographics change so much over the last few decades. I don't know where this ends up but I certainly don't want to be living in our cities any more.
An italian, frenchman or englishman would be way better. Better yet none since there's already an insane housing shortage in Canada. Canada for the Canadians.

‚human material‘?! Are you quite all right?
Are people demonizing immigrants? That’s new. I’ve seen a lot of demonization of illegal aliens and politicians dramatically incentivizing them to come. Only very low information, low IQ people confuse the two. Legal immigrants in my experience and from inherent selection bias are usually the most ambitious and hard working folk that make America great. Just like your dad.
I'm so sick of seeing people LARP as freedom minded individuals acting like immigrants are the problem and not the state. Idk about Canada but in erica watching people cheer on masked thugs kidnapping people off the street, scanning their face, and checking their papers based solely on the color of the skin is surreal. Then the same people turn around and talk about limiting government. The majority of deportees here have no criminal record whatsoever, and even if they do have one it's usually victimless crimes. If you come here and aren't hurting anyone, you. should be left the fuck alone. There is plenty of room, and immigration generates new jobs and grows the economy. Those demonizing immigrants are a bunch of fucking sheep who believe every thing they read on X about immigrants and are willing to let the state destroy our rights to "protect" them from the scary brown people. Ending welfare, I can get down with that. Deport violent people and thieves, that's fine too. But this letting ICE run around like drunken cowboys snatching everyone up, that's insane. A brand new dystopian surveillance state 10x worse than what we had before in America is being implemented using illegal immigration as the fake "emergency" to justify it. And if someone is so scared of immigrants they are willing to trade their liberty for some fake safety, they need to grow some balls.

People looking to make a better life for themselves or running away form a shity place. Same reasons different times.
A lot of the immigrants that are coming now, are coming to exploit. Because that's exactly what the government is offering them. If your coming to plant trees that you won't enjoy fruit from, as well as enjoy the fruit from the ones that were planted decades before you arrived. Fine, otherwise go back to your own country and try and make it better. Too many people will break economies and countries, if you think this is an accident you're a fool. When students can't get any starter jobs because immigrants have taken them all, that is a problem.

This entire economic system is rooted in exploitation. It's a possibility that where they are coming from was exploited which is why they are leaving. 'coming to exploit.....'go back to your own country'........you probably have more in common with immigrants than the individuals who run this place.
True value lies not in taxes, but in the kindness and positivity one spreads. A good man’s legacy is measured by his impact, not his bills.

No argument there, but the incentive structure is decided by the receiving entity right? Excluding illegals of course.
Immigrants = invaders They’re jewish bioweapons used to facilitate fraud End the Fed, cleanse the invaders from America, and the entire world improves
The issue is that those places are being made shitty by foreign policy now more than ever before. There's such a thing as too many too quickly. And also, maybe we should stop chasing them out of their homes. It's the same fiat system that breaks our money behind the need to plunder foreign resources in order to service the endlessly compounding debt. ICE probably isn't the right approach to address it. But not addressing it at all certainly isn't either.
Italians helped too. Pretty sure a lot of industry wasn't happening without a lot of black labor either. Heck the whole state of Texas immigrated, land and all 😂. From Mexico. We had a fair few Chinese guys too, something about creating the railroad that gave access to the west without involving dysentery and cholera on the Oregon Trail. The pace, not the race, is what is wrong with the current immigration. Values are not being adopted, and culture is not being assimilated. When you go to someone's home and interact with them with reciprocity, you're a guest. When you just pour in and use their resources and do not, you're an invader. And even if you're WILLING to help, if the homeowner is not able to find ways for you to pull your weight, you're still an invader.
nope. its the race. and everyone knows that the original "italians" were white. they lost their ancient civilizations when the non-whites population and influence, through white decadence and increasingly tolerant attitudes toward "multiculturalism" (for financial benefit no doubt) , overtook the original architects of the civ... get realism bro, #racerrealism . its not hate its the humble recognition deep respect for the fact that people are not reducible to economic units of production - no matter your misplaced sentimentalism and unrealistic idealism rooted in the dust of material concerns.
