In this version we support NIP-55 Remote Signer login with Android signers like Amber. NIP-46 coming very soon - although there's not great options for mobile signers on iOS.

I have it running in a browser on my MacBook. It runs a service worker in the background so it’s not necessary to keep your nsec.app dashboard open, but I usually keep itn open during the initial connection. You can run it on your iPhone browser, but I haven’t tried it. Talk to

Yeah, but you can run it on your iPhone. IIRC running it on your iPhone has extra steps. I’m just usually at home so I just use it on my MacBook.

Are you on version 1.1? You can’t connect external wallets. Fountain has an in-built wallet that you can top up from any Lightning Wallet.

I've been enjoying beta testing this and so happy this is out. It's amazing, I've been using it as my only podcast player. I've always loved learning about outstanding podcasts from my social bubble. Someone posts something to a group that they find interesting. It's not possible to listen to every episode of every podcast I like, so social selection works best. Now I choose who's opinion on quality podcasts I enjoy and it just works in Fountain, even if my friends don't use it directly.
It is just a beautiful UX around what most of us have been doing manually - listening to their friends, or having content curated in a decentralized group of people we choose.

For quote some time, Fountain has been the only app I have used for listening to podcasts. You should give it a whirl if you want to try out a different app.

Fountain 1.1 with #nostr is now live on iOS and Android!
Why Nostr?
We regularly hear from both listeners and podcasters that the social features in Fountain are a great way to discover content that’s worth listening to.
When you support a podcast, or comment on an episode, your message is surfaced to your followers in the Fountain home feed and anyone that sees these can add the content to their library.
But this came with a few problems. When you first start using Fountain you wouldn’t have any followers so your posts wouldn’t get seen. If you wanted to share something you were listening to, you had to choose between leaving a comment on Fountain, or sharing on another social platform.
Today we are excited to announce a massive update to Fountain that solves these problems with Nostr:
- You can bring your existing profile and followers to Fountain
- Your boosts and comments will be surfaced in other Nostr clients
- Posts shared from other Nostr clients relating to audio will appear in your feed
- Conversation and interactions now flow freely across multiple apps

Sounds more like a temporary glitch or something to be sorted soon.
It's a Pub/Priv key pairing issue. Fountain somehow added a Public Key to my account, which is incorrect, and I never gave them. Only option is to create a new account.
Love Fountain, but... De-Googled phones would like to download your apk directly or via droidify or similar. I'm not touching Google Play Store on this Graphene profile. Have to resort to some iffy mirror like APKPure to get Fountain. Break from the gatekeepers, fam.

Is the app collecting our nsecs and tracking us? Guess we can't know the answer because it's closed source. A little too much trusting happening here imo. Especially when developer can't be bothered to respond to any of these concerns.

This is sick!!! Only one big problem: I don’t want to share my nsec with Fountain and every other app that integrates Nostr. This is just a ticking time bomb.
Signing extensions should be integrated as a default option! Or am I missing something?

Yes totally agree this isn't ideal. On Android we support NIP-55 remote signers like Amber. On iOS we plan to add NIP-46 remote signer support - the only reason we haven't yet is there isn't really a great mobile NIP-46 signer for iOS. I'm actually hoping that

@Oscar Merry will the followers we had before in Fountain remain connected to our Fountain Account? Or will they be fully replaced by the Nostr ones? For those like me that had already some followers it wouldn’t be the best solution.

You won’t be following them on nostr by default no - this is because the app needs to be able to sign the follow events. We do have a screen that lets you find your old fountain followers and follow them on nostr. It’s available by clicking on the people icon in the Home Screen appbar.
Ok found that. Unfortunately nobody of my previous Fountain Followers is on Nostr yet. But question is: Do they still follow me on Fountain and can see my clips etc.? Can I see those contacts still somewhere on Fountain?

Are these not just features native to using Nostr in the first place? Your followers and posts should be tied to your public key not the client, and any post you make from the public key should be sent to your followers regardless of the client they use..
Damn, now THIS makes me super excited for the future of #Nostr! Kudos to y'all for making this update. Permissionless integration of open source Bitcoin empowered social media into everything is the future! I love podcasts so I can't wait to try Fountain and support you guys. Question though, I am still new to Nostr and want to avoid sharing my Nsec with every app. Is there any way to connect my Nostr with fountain without sharing my Nsec? I'm on Android.

I'm getting this error while trying to import my podcast feed from antennapod via OPML file.
Thais looks cool, hooked up fountain, Nostr via primal and Stripe.
Can't update my NOSTR pubkey on Fountain for some reason. 🤷🏼♂️
