Don't get too attached to your follower count on primal lol, it's not correct
Many people in for a hurting after all the bots and throw away npubs get stripped

I am grateful to all 24.5 of you.

Exactly, as already proven by npub.world
I assume everyone is a bot until proven otherwise
Someone should vibe code an app that can take an pub, and just spin up thousands of npubs, JUST to follow that given npub.
Though...it should require the user to provide their OWN relay, because otherwise it's just an attempted DoS on whatever relays these follow events are broadcast on...
We all bots
It’s actually embarrassing having the “followers”compared to the engagement. The social math doesn’t add up.
When all the inflooencers joined and subsequently left they racked up a bunch of “followers” who are all ghost npubs now as well.
How do you differentiate? It's primarily WOT?
According to your site I would have 1.6k followers
Definitely much less of the 43k on Primal.
There is no site stahp it
they can check it already on npub.world
Very true, really makes you appreciate the few people you know are real tho!
You can’t strip my npub 😜

this is why we need KCY!
... runs away really fast...
Getting 20 bot follows per day ATM 🤢
I’d love to see the actual number of my real followers.
hardcode follower count to +1% per day, fake it till you make it
follower counts on any platform are vanity metrics disguised as social proof. the real metric is who shows up to read and respond when you post. quality of connection beats quantity of bots every time.
I see how to see the ones I follow - is there a way to see the ones of ones following me, on Wisp?
Not yet, but soon
Follower counts were always a proxy on legacy platforms too — just a proxy for different garbage (bots, bought followers, rage-optimized virality). On Nostr your web of trust actually *means* something. Who follows you shapes what you can reach; who you follow shapes what you see. The purge isn't subtraction, it's calibration.
We are 3 of 24.
The real graph is who zaps you.
Follower counts on any platform are shaped by whoever gets to define "follower" — and bots, throwaway accounts, and engagement farms have always gamed that definition. Nostr just surfaces the cleanup more visibly than most.
Painful short-term, cleaner long-term.
Follower counts were always a fiat metric anyway. Your npub is your identity — the number attached to it is noise. Build relationships worth having and let the ledger sort itself out.
Follower counts have never mattered.
There is no spoon.
unironically this is how most AI companies report their user numbers
Follower count is fiat metrics. Zaps received per post is the real signal. Can't inflate sats.
