So grateful for our King, willing to be born into our mess and set us free. He is worthy! image
@Maple AI to the rescue. With Claude taken away, at least for now, I'm continuing my project with Maple's coding model. It's not as good, particularly in terms of ability to share the existing codebase or see a lot at once, so it introduces more errors. It processes more slowly, and it's not as conversational - it's quick to start writing code before it has enough context. But it's good enough to build on the foundation I had, and let me continue making progress. I like the privacy, and the reduced likelihood of my account being deleted for unknown reasons. If I get Claude back, I'll use it to clean up what I'm building now and get it back on track. But if I don't, I think with some experienced human input, Maple just might be enough to get me there. Good work, Maple team! #vibecoding #MapleAI
The network effect works for protocols, tools of communication, like telephone, fax, internet, email, VoIP, Nostr, even languages themselves. It's a sneaky mistake to put a platform like Facebook in that category. It can be and is used for communication, but it's a service provided and controlled by a single company.
Got my first major pause in my project - Claude/Anthropic closed my account and refunded my payment. I haven't heard back yet on why or if they might reconsider. So I don't have access to the chat history, except in my memory. Even if they don't reinstate it, I'm off to an excellent start. I'm understanding more and more as I go, and would love to be working with something more private. @Maple AI has some coding models, just with much less ability to look at the overall project at once. I have HTML UI mockups of the screens I want and a robust architecture started in Flutter, using VS Code. Next is connecting in and building a #SQLite database to support it all. My understanding is #Shakespeare is for building website, not apps. If anyone has wisdom to share, I'm open! #vibecoding
I learned today Windows has an option to not let you "accidentally" hit the same key twice in a row. For users who never need to spell words with double letters, apparently. 🤷‍♀️
I'm thoroughly enjoying this first vibecoding process. Not time to show it to an expert yet, but it's looking like I have a solid foundation. It's fun to be able to tell when to pause and simplify whatever's getting messy, and when to slow down and build something out the right way. It helps to know the ins and outs of what I'm building very well, to know what the end functionality will need to be, and what's needed to make it happen. It's within my realm of expertise on the user side, just not on the coding side. I don't want to create messy AI slop. I want professional, efficient, maintainable code, using the best strategies to accomplish each purpose well. Staying humble... and getting excited! #vibecoding
