I build open-source, privacy-focused apps for anyone whose data is not for sale.
I use AI tools to write the code, but do not include surveillance or invasive permissions. My apps are designed to work across platforms, making the switch to Linux phones easier when they're more available.
(I'm a beginner in this, learning as I go. I'll start with publishing Flutter apps on Codeberg and Zapstore.)
Does @Zapstore support fetching metadata from CodeFloe like it does from Codeberg and other sites?
If this year's theme is weak entropy being discovered, where should we be checking, proactively?
Has @Amber's been verified?
We've seen other hasks too, of course, but maybe we're seeing a gradual version, a test run of what people think quantum computing will do to Bitcoin.

It's amazing how long I can try iterations before I'm satisfied with an app icon.
I like the homespun look of the ones I've got, and it's clear they all match, but I'm aware they're too detailed and tiny to be proper icons.
I'm getting better results from the AI I'm trying this time around. But it still takes a while to get to the core of the idea and choose an object to portray that suits it.

I think 2026 has been the year hacks that had been unlikely became inevitable.
With ColdCard and other scenarios, what had been a slim chance of a vulnerability that only the most paranoid did the work to avoid became the difference between holding strong and losing funds or data. The shift has come, from "if" to "when".
It's easier than ever to explain, in any context, why it's best not to give out information freely. Instead of a question of whether the person we give it to should have our ID, it's a question of how long it will be before their database gets hacked, which criminals will have the information, and what they'll do with it.
I hope my apps will be available for iPhone and Mac, and on Google Play. But I don't plan to register as a developer with Apple or Google. The code is written in Flutter (Dart) for cross-platform capability, and MIT licensed to give maximum freedom.
Is it reasonable to look for someone who could publish these apps to mainstream stores, once they're ready? Would it be a breach of any developer agreements? I'd be open to adjusting the main codebases to solve incompatibilities, and I don't mind them being published under someone else's name.
@Logen, I would be especially interested in your thoughts - is it an idea you might consider?
