unified balance where my money is saved on relays this is a "nostr balance" that will follow me around on any nostr app and I just zapped @Nunya Bidness without having to connect nostr-wallet-connect it just works, no QR codes, no secrets, nothing... your nsec gives you access to your money image

Pablo, are you going to drop how to do this? I'm, as usual, very interested in how this works and what it might take (pleb-wise) to get it to work. Also, did you just bitch-slap Ecash and LN at the same time?

sooo no more alby? what lighting address do you use?
The Lighting addresses requirement for zaps could even be obsoleted: send a Cashu zap from your Cashu Nostr balance; npub comes online and signs an event adding that token to their own Nostr balance; done.

Now there’s a lot relying on individuals to properly secure their nsec… not only your nostr identity but some funds as well. Could you do this with ephemeral keys? Can you somehow combine with nsec bunker?
We are building incredible things on nostr, but also you can't reliably tag people, search, or find who to follow 😅

Maybe I’m missing something but this sharing of private keys looks ridiculously insecure😢
Yup, all building blocks, individual users and developers can combine them in all sort of fun ways!
What if we assume that users will not persist a large number of tokens in relays? I think what we can expect is that users will redeem those tokens as soon as they start to feel like they have a large amount
Yes, and any other app could have access too once you've entered it on an internet-connected device. What makes this worse than username/password logins is your followers and stuff don't all automatically transfer if you need to change your key. People will really want this fixed more and more as time goes on.
Ecash users do not hold any bitcoin and mints custody bitcoin for them. These users cant even hold their ecash tokens and need relays for it, so they can do anything for convenience.
Security is not a priority for the users that rely on mints and relays for using their money and prefer convenience.
Totally back-asswards way of doing this, if ECash mints want to copy ShockWallet and Lightning Pub do it correctly with remote signing and device tokens
It's a less secure version of ShockWallet's UX that uses Nostr to sync state and device tokens... and it doesn't use flakey ecash
