merchant acceptance needs to be as unremarkable as smartphones
Congrats and thank you! A major milestone in the realization of a P2P electrionic cash system.

Great and important work, thank you. Hopefully the international roll out happens rapidly, many western governments moving to close off the option ... speed now ...
If McDonald's global restaurants support Bitcoin payment methods, it will accelerate the global use of Bitcoin. McDonald's is not just a hamburger, but a symbol of American culture. A place where only McDonald's restaurants can truly reunite people around the world.
I don’t fully agree with that. We’ve been accepting payments in BTC since 2013, and over 12 years, maybe three people have paid that way, so that’s rather low adoption for now. Not to mention that we probably lost our first wallet for good, but there wasn’t much in it anyway- probably less than 10 BTC (worth around $4,000 at the time)

Now, we developers with passions for other things (for some blue collar works) can move on to finally do these things and say: "the infra is set up, the mission complete on a software level, now lets do the real work!"

Awesome!! Next is to set the default to enabled on with payment in USD so we can tell everyone one with a square terminal we're there to pay in Bitcoin, and WE can SHOW THE MERCHANT how easy it is to take Bitcoin payments.

Pricing still in fiat lol. #btcfail
But why have it be Opt In? I'm still having to convince business owners that would never know I'm paying with BTC. On By Default to USD is what we need.
