People can be really mean, it's difficult not to absorb it, I get it There's good people here, focus on us In the end, you know what's best for you Take a pause, but don't leave forever 🫂
The issue on Nostr isn't just trolls. I think there are a lot of mentally ill people on nostr. Like, you read some comments and it's really incoherent speech, when the person is completely uninhibited openly insulting people they don't know and having parasocial relationships with people they dont know either

I understand this feeling. I don't know exactly why roya left but I have had my "fuck nostr" moments too. last year I quit on International Women's Day because the amount of misogynistic and -insert prefix here-phobic content and memes that were floating around. It was on my own feed. it was in global feed. it was pervasive and everywhere. I don't expect to be treated special on IWD. It is nice when it happens. When I was working overseas, the men on our development teams celebrated their women counterparts by paying their way during lunch and saying "Happy Women's Day" A simple, heartfelt sentiment. Had they not celebrated us, it would have been just another day at the office and been perfectly fine. But no, on nostr, it would have been the equivalent of coming to work and having the men spit on us and make us feel less-than all day. Men that we worked alongside every other day of the year show their derision on just that one day. I had people in my feed who I had interacted with churn out hate memes against women on just that day. It felt disgusting so I quit. what's the point of staying when most of my time spent here was gonna be hitting the block button? Months later, I came back. I like the immaturity of nostr as a social space where the connections feel more authentic. Blocking is a powerful tool and I use it liberally. the social landscape change a little for the better while I was gone. here's to hoping it continues to get better so the people who left will come back.
I actually can’t imagine Nostr without Roya. Hope you come back girl, screw the haters 🫂
Most of all I want people to do what they need to do to live their best lives. Roya shouldn’t have been subjected to the abuse and trolling that she was. I wish I had come to her defense more often and checked in with her more. She seemed like a master of batting away haters and trolls. I tend to deal with them by subscribing to the notion of “Don’t feed the trolls.” But sometimes a group needs to tell someone their behavior is inappropriate and kindly fuck off. At the end of the day protecting one’s peace is so important. Nostr isn’t worth sacrificing a healthy, peaceful state of mind. Roya doesn’t owe us her presence or attention.
When people(men?) show their true colors, you mute them? I do think nostr needs the ability to limit how others can interact with one’s own posts. If I want to turn off commenting, reactions, or limit such things to a list of npubs I approve of, that should be possible. Such things would prevent this experience in my opinion.

By your conclusion of the existence of Nostr, could you please enlighten me what Nostr is? If Roya is the soul of Nostr, then you probably should invite or find more people like her to enrich the advancement of Nostr right?
Account deletion is basically setting nane as "nobody" and putting `"deleted": true` into your metadata so the nsec could not be used in certain client like damus / plebstr
Cause of Apple App store policy, it is impossible to delete nostr account with all clients except fediverse software
