Farmers are the absolute basis of any civilisation - and therefore the basis of every economy. No farmers, no food, no economy. Simples. That's why every effort should be made by anyone who can to convince the people who provide our food to accept Bitcoin. View quoted note →
Just let me say something to our dear local farmers? Why your eggs went up in price like 100 percent in the past year? And don't tell me it's the necessary cost because I know it's a lie! Of course people will buy cheaper products because our fucking paychecks can't keep up with your rising prices. Thank god I can mostly grow my own food.
its not mainstream. its State and corporate propaganda. stop letting them define the words you use.

Did you mean to post this reply to the same post? If not, what version of TestFlight are you on?
Is this an older video though? From when these protests first began? Because you can see that Santa and I think a little grinch doll

Go farmers! These are the people who work their arses off every day for long hours in all conditions to make sure everyone can eat and all the government wants to do is give them shit. It's so good to see the farmers giving them shit back and dumping tonnes of literal shit on the government's doorstep! Fuck the government, fuck the politicians, fuck the bureaucrats and all their parasitic hangers-on. Start growing your own food too guys, the farmers are essential but we need to build our own self sufficiency as well. As Bill Mollison said "growing your own food is an act of sedition" we need a lot more sedition all over the world! #nofarmersnofood #fuckgovernment #grownostr #freedom #anarchy #livefree View quoted note →
They are protesting against government measures that threaten their livelihood. Specifically additional taxes of fuel and Co2 or in some cases even the killing of almost all of their livestock to "cOmBaT cLimAtE cHanGe".
Farmers protesting all over EU, please tell your neighbours and your friends... ... to wake up and take over the protests from the farmers so they can return to producing food, otherwise those neighbours and friends will have empty supermarkets in a few weeks, and the big depopulation will get going. Dear frogs, the water is getting really really hot now.

^this. The currency is being devalued and is worth less and less per unit. So the same way that you’re experiencing your paycheck buying less and less, so the farmer’s income is also buying less and less and hence he has to put his prices up.
most of the farmers protesting are not the friends of nature. their animals are pharmacies and their fields are poisened by glyphosate. farmers are businessmen, there is nothing romantic about them. they don't produce healthy products, they want to make as much profit as possible (at all costs). but the farmers have the advantage of their big machines, such a protest looks good on tv (and is shown on msm all over the place here in europe). protests of nurses or teachers aren't that effective, because they don't have machines to shut down the streets of a whole country. and what are the german farmers protesting against? the government wants to cut subsidies for them ... subsidies paid from tax payer's money to businesses, which made (looking back at the last 10+ years) record earnings in 2023. socialism is pervert, but socialism supporting groups in society, which earn already not bad money is crazy. ... and of course there are still farmers out there, not looking on profits only, and i want them to survive, but they are a very small minority ... and their enemy aren't the consumers, they get crushed by their "monsanto" collegues. sorry, chart is in german ... purple line: total earnings in euro/year image
Why I said mostly because protests at least put a important sign into the world: we can’t continue like that.. and I hope people see this and not see the begging for profit 🥲 I was also thinking of how would a world look like, if the focus was biodiversity and not profit. The world would be more beautiful and efficient…💚
that's a good point ... and hopefully this focus farming gets at the moment will help having such discussion about the direction agraculture should go, because like you said: farming for profit only is a dead end street for all of us, not just the farmers. there has to be a change ... and not only on the farmer's side, but on the side of the consumers too
It's a product of subsidies, all the european countries are subsidizing the farmers and if some of them stop it will kill their farmers. At the same time the subsidies are finetuned so the farmers are forced to do things that the govt wants them to do. It's central planning with extra steps. I'm not sure the majority of the farmers would like the govt to go away completely. They just want their piece of pie (not to shrink).
cut on tax cuts on diesel :) I wonder if all the subsidies and taxes went away, what the balance would be. In any case, all the subsidies are connected to many strings and hoops you have to jump through. They force you to invest in tech they want you to use. They tell you what, where, how you can do. There is also continuous satelite imaging to constantly monitor your crops so you follow the condition of the subsidies. If anything looks sus on the satelite photo the ground inspection teams are deployed. So you know, you don't cheat somehow. This all of course is comming with ever growing mountains of paperwork . You can't opt out, because then you are uncompetitive. This what I was able to find about the subject just looking around in the media, so it's not the whole picture and it's maybe distorted a bit. In any case, what kind of people want to play this game? How healthy is it for the society?
I was wondering why all the tractors seem top of the line, very new, expensive looking. So it sounds like the government is way over subsidizing the farmers and wanting to cut that back some. Not to kill the farmers, but to not subsidize so much? Thanks for explaining what you are seeing on the ground there, @ralf Most farmers I know in the USA that are not huge mega corporations do not all have such nice expensive new tractors.
Farmers need to charge prices that enable them to support all of their rising costs. Whether their costs increased to produce eggs or not, their costs in general have gone up.
