I always knew that my dad was doing it right by retiring to live stewarding land towards producing as much of his own food and wine as possible. But, after growing up in that world, it really took me a long time to start appreciating it for myself. Yesterday, while mowing my vineyard, I could think of no place I'd rather be.

That's essentially my retirement plan. I'd like to just die naturally wherever my place is. None of this stringing along bullshit we do now. Work my land and then die. That's all I want right now.
Sheep are in the next pasture over. Their movable home is appears in the video. At this stage they would eat young vines coming up from the roots and I'm worried they would damage my trellis system
Mountain-grown, low intervention wine from Paonia, Colorado. Minimal sulfites. No toxic additives. 6+ bottles ship free. www.peonylanewine.com
It's so good to appreciate the beautiful earth we find ourselves on. 🫂 I gotta see more of that mowing rig doing it's thing man. It looks kind of soothing 🤣
Everyone should strive for this, self sustaining natural land use. Instead they want to put gas stations with convenient stores, slurpees and hot dogs everywhere
