I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this.
I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

Morning garden pic is more damage from the hail storm. My basil is bruised. Little black splotches that were not there the night before the storm showed up yesterday morning.

We had a devastating hail storm last night, so garden pic is of the damage. Lots of holes in big leaves. The sunflower took the brunt of it, but this comfrey has also taken a hit

Today’s garden pic is flea beetle damage & powdery mildew. Ugh, I need to pay better attention. I have pinion in the house & could have prevented some of this.

Todays garden pic is spinach, well it will be eventually. We had to till this bed. I have kale & a few pole beans in half, but I tarps this back half last month with the intention of putting spinach in here at this stage, the soil is so compacted though. We put in some compost materials, tilled it up & I’ll get a cover crop in there this winter, hopefully this will be better eventually.
