BIP-110 was NOT urgently put out. It was a reaction to Core devs URGENTLY raising the default Op Return from 83 bytes to 100KB. That’s over a 1200X increase with no valid justification.
If someone articulated a valid reason to me, I’d shut the fuck up and admit I was wrong.
The reason it’s concerning to me is because once Bitcoin is a legitimate threat to fiat, nation states will have legal justification to *try* to shut down the network because a CSAM image can be viewed in a single op return. Not there? They can upload the false flag themselves.
You core people have way too much faith in government to act rationally. Let’s not give them any excuse to attack Bitcoin, and more importantly, bitcoiners.
