LOL, is there anyone left that considers him relevant?
who is that guy
idk who he is
Sadly there aren't many people to sell NFTs to on nostr π€·
Tragic, really. Hopefully nostrβs Total Scammable Market (TSM) grows rapidly.
Heβs known for his floss πΊπΌ
the founding base being bitcoin is beneficial rather than detrimental! If not for bitcoiners on nostr id still be in the dark ages
like the dance that was popular when i was in middle school
Hey how can I get the laser eye ππ
I love it
Me:

Honestly given how beta mode this place is I think it is okay that it is small. Let people discover it in six months when this thing can basically be the entire web 2.0 in one cryptographic login and web 2.0 has committed ai induced seppukku and fully imploded.
Bitcoiners will provide the steady base of use from which nostr can be developed upon -- kind of like ordinals and the fee market, except it's real.
i donβt think iβve seen anyone mention you on here ever. i still donβt know who you are
stop giving this guy attention
ignore him jack
Had no idea he was even here. jack you shouldnβt have quoted himβ¦
Not worth it. False premises, false conclusions, mixed with with grandstanding.
My main question is what is being done to onboard people into the app? I'm here, I'm new... not sure how to use it.... most other zoomers/millenials would have a far lower attention span and have moved on by now.... I'd like to find out more... not sure where to go for reliable info on it tho...
Funny, Iβve never seen any of his screenshotted posts here π€·ββοΈ
Not a bad thing
Tysm CrazyUnicorn!
Ordinals will bring a lot of people back to Bitcoin
I'll buy them π
You are blessed for not knowing. Remain that way
What server has non blockchain news and current events? That will help.
Udi teams up with scammers like Bitboy and wonder why people donβt take him seriously or respect him
The number of people here is not what the network optimizes for (in comparison to twitters, facebooks, etc). As far as I can tell the network optimizes for utility.
The more useful it is, the better.
The number of people is a second effect of that, but the number of people isn't that important.
Udi is a fraud scammer lmao
Literally a retard
I feel sad that
@jack even had to address this.
It will change over time
He's right that catering to the bitcoin maxis will crimp the network's growth. Normal people are not yet using btc, and if they feel they have to bitcoin to nostr, they just won't nostr.
udi iβm not (tho iβm clearly in the minority lol). iβm a music head before much else
i kinda like the niche nature of users here. but iβm confident nostr will diversify in time
makes sense lol. #bitcoin maxis arenβt about that life. try #lensprotocol and #farcaster to find those types. and of course thereβs plenty of #NFT and #web3 enthusiasts on twitter
i donβt believe the focus is necessarily to onboard folks. iβm of that demo and Iβm here just cuz i like exploring new social mediums and i have an appreciation for emerging tech. but this protocol isnβt the type thatβs gonna very actively invest in onboarding folks who donβt βget itβ as that doesnβt necessarily contribute to the nature of the ecosystem
#nostrnewb and #asknostr have some info and
@HoloKat is a good person to follow. always sharing stuff for new people. also good ol youtube tutorials were pretty helpful to me
i see nostr as a create your own adventure sort of deal and you bump into folks along the way that help you or can relate to you on your journey
have fun and peep #grownostr for the βnormalβ stuff
QTNA lol
in all fairness, βnormalβ people donβt need nostr. thereβs still twitter. and eventually bluesky will open
Udi, youβve been around long enough to see how these things go. Twitter was always viewed as the βweirdβ platform by allowing pseudonyms to tweet with its strict character limit because Jack wanted to make sure mobile users can participate. Eventually politicians and βnormalβ people hopped on board.
Iβm far from a laser eyed maxi, but itβs not surprising that nostr attracted a certain crowd first. The great thing is that it will continue to spread out over time.
Donβt fall for the trap of viewing this like an old bulletin board. Those things still exist, but these platforms are open to all with no central topic.
I agree on boarding needs work and the general user experience in most of the clients needs work.
But it's a space in rapid development and I think the next 5 years will look great for Nostr as a protocol.
Personally, I am here to find other BTC Maxis. I am not on board with the whole laser eyes thing, it's a tad cringe to me, same with wizards.
This is true. What he says is also true. Heβs pretty effective at prompting responses out of people. I mean he describes trolling in his troll. Yet you and many others still fed the troll.
Effective schtick.
Whatever it takes to make it more accessible to more people
Bringing people over to nostr who will be slinging sats around. Seems like a win on multiple fronts, although you make a valid point.
Agreed.
Very true. I agree. I really like Nostr and canβt wait for my diverse crowds of users. I donβt share Udiβs views. At least not most. I do find him an entertaining troll though.
Couldnβt have hoped for a better outcome
Jack, been waiting to join bluesky. Open the door ser
Not up to me
All is fair in love and SoftWar
Shoot me a dm if you want, Iβll send you an invite
My 2nd day βactiveβ and β¦β¦.itβs gonna make itβ¦β¦.

It's not servers. It's people.
Every platform or protocol has to start somewhere. Nostr was founded by and is being developed by hardcore Bitcoiners. It's obvious that it's going to attract more like minded folks. Plus, there's the fact that Nostr's ethos melds well with Bitcoin's ethos. Nostr is a screaming beacon of decentralized freedom, making all Bitcoiners eventually migrate to the protocol. Every platform or protocol needs a base. Wether it's Bitcoin maximalists or boating enthusiasts. Eventually, other groups of people start seeing it's benefits and start to check it out.
I've told Udi before and I'll say it again, bring your community here. Build here. The vast majority of Nostriches welcome new users.
Who da fook is that guy?
Well put
Thatβs why Iβm exploring it. Weβre pretty good at mobilizing our community. But we need to be sure of it first. Iβve also tried Bluesky, mastodon, and Iβll be trying Zuckβs new thing on Thursday too. Weβll see
Udi is more then welcome here, not that it matters what we way. Nobody could stop him from joining.
Have you tried contacting HR? π€£
What we say* π₯Έ

Should we call the NOSTR CEO?
In all seriousness, Iβm happy heβs here. I donβt agree with a lot of the things he says but I enjoy having perspectives like his around.
Every kingdom needs a few jesters.
I haven't spent nearly as much time on those platforms as I have here, but I'll say that the choice seems obvious. You can build whatever you want here. It's beautiful. You can't say that about anywhere else.
Make an Ordinals focused client. That seems like it would be a dream for the JPEG gang. Right?
Friendly
I just got on there, but itβs very very early. You see flashes of potential, but youβd likely spend more time on nostr for the time being.
Whenever I get invites Iβll post it on here for those who want to check it out.
The greater fool...
Were the founding bases of prior networks of such a specific ideological demographic though?
Mastodon is cool because it's bridged to Nostr thanks to
@Alex Gleason. Millions of users there who value decentralized technology but are mostly uninitiated with the key management and signing involved in Bitcoin and Nostr.
A FOOKIN BUM

Is trends not possible to add to nostr?
It is because Nostr has this group of people that it has a solid foundation and soil, and people here have great patience and confidence to grow with Nostr.
I've been into btc since late 2010, not the very first, but certainly not late to the game either......
I don't see how nostr is going to survive or thrive without attracting new people and being more welcoming.... and recognising diversity in the value people can bring to the platform outside of blockchain, and recognising that this does not mean that such people are not in fact btc OGs...
It doesnβt look like trolling anymore. Itβs more like he has a personal vendeta against them maxis and thinks and dreams about them every day.
Maybe. Just donβt let it get to you like it got to Greg Foss. π
Some clients do.
Just a joke. Good to see you! To your credit, block 774628 was funny as fuck.
Spicy take, but founding base needs to be welcoming to those who think differently in order to grow. Not happening here imo
any thoughts on threads yet? have u tried it?
I'm definitely not that. I am just an old school internet person who has been hurt too many times by the thing I love and built a career on, and want to find something/someone to trust/believe in again... and try to figure out how to be a part of it all, but am just... jaded and tapped out these days.
I already have perfectly fine eyes the way they are, no lasers pls. Just a delivery on the promise we made to users, and to make it right.
it just gets better and better lol
Nostr can perfectly exist as a niche social media platform without attracting new users. Dark web forums are a good example.
How do we know you don't have lasers under the sunglasses?
