It is truly hilarious to read certain liberal accounts convinced there is some vast bitcoin consensus on the right. It's so wildly inaccurate it borders on being a conspiracy theory. Reality: The admin has indicated clearly via Lutnick et all that they want to create a stablecoin dollar. Possibly also wanting to overhaul the internal gov payments systems. To do this they would need the technical expertise of people across bitcoin and the broader crypto industry. So they made favorable policies and did things like free ross to gain the support of the industry. There is no consensus broader than that. Most normie conservatives are not bitcoin supporters,own none or very little, and view it with considerable skepticism.

I still remain some what surprised that nostr has never been used by another crowd. Like how hard would it be to take a typical app, set up a different set of nodes, and have... pretty much an entirely different experience socially. The fact that the ability to see other systems like mastodon makes this doubly odd to me.

Seeing alot of people who normally would not worry about privacy rediscovering the value. Lots of inroads to be made on the privacy front.

Giving power back to people over thier social media involves getting leverage over the advertising/attension business. Change my mind.

Letting the right take over the "weird" demographic is such an unforced error. People having fun with it for the moment but I think it won't last.
