I’ll say it again, and I’ll keep saying it until people get it: I HAVE NO INTEREST IN GETTING NORMAL PEOPLE TO USE BITCOIN AND NOSTR I am only interested in getting those who demand self-sovereignty for themselves, and are unequivocally dedicated towards building a future where everyone owns their own data, and no one can cancel them or steal it away from them.

Agreed to a point. I kind of think of it like this, more people I can@ pull into Bitcoin, maybe it’s the more people that donate to the developers, or the likes of a Gladstein type and the human rights foundation. Love your passion, sir. Keep fighting the good fight. Take care. I wish you well.
So Lets focus in having people getting interested in demanding self-sovereignty for themselves, will become unequivocally dedicated towards building a future where everyone owns their own data, and no one can cancel them or steal it away from them. (BTW i agree with you, a waste of energy.)
Also don't rule out the possibility that many will end up using sovereign technology, without knowing it or caring about its principles. Something like... Hey look Barry, this is available and useful let's use it.
View quoted note →
May we not normalize the idea that normal people don't want to be self sovereign.

Personally, I'm not into purity tests, I often find them to be counterproductive or I distinctly don't see eye to eye with them, but in all honesty, you do you.
Completely agree. Fiat shills are the prison guards that enslaved us in order to shield themselves from the consequences of their bad decisions. Now that we found a way to escape in secret, why would we announce it to them?
The self-sovereign rallying cry. Arghh! Freedom! Self sufficiency! And independence! And self-determination! And isolation! And self-importance! I am so powerful in my own mind! “They don’t know self-sovereign I am” image
This is why there’s no sense in being an orange piller. Make it known you’re a bitcoiner/use nostr and let those who see the value in it come to you with questions. Those are the folks worth trying to educate
I like your attitude. But let me note, Neo was also just a normie somewhere in the middle of the Matrix before the red pill…💐💐💐

He wants a normie, he was a software programmer/hacker. I feel that’s anything but “normie status”

When the sheep dogs chases away the wolves they not only protect themselves but the sheep also. Get more sheep dogs to be sovereign and the sheep will be ok.
There’s plenty of people who try to convince every random person they meet to buy bitcoin. That’s what I’m calling an orange piller
Seems to me that bringing the Bitcoin and Nostr tool sets to the Permaculture and Homesteading communities will be much lower hanging fruit, as they already understand long term thinking, distributed networks create resilience, and sovereignty over supply chain verticals matter. It's not 'your' data unless it's on your device and not 'your' device/node/relay/AI agent unless it's on your land in your building. Same as it's not your wallet if it's not in your pocket.
I don’t care at all either. You’re either gonna figure it out or you’re not.

Remember when alternative mobile OSs were a nightmare for 10 years and then #graphene made it so a trained chimp could set it up and the only difference you'd notice from stock android is that it's faster? I was pretty excited, showed it to everyone I know... Nobody cared. Yeah. I don't talk about freedom tech anymore. Have fun staying slaves.
Makes sense, you can only meet people where they are. But also: there's nothing normal in not wanting to learn or use bitcoin or Nostr.

Do not worry. Normal people want convenience not freedom. Here is too hard for them
The only problem with this mindset is that we still want bitcoin to destroy central banking. If normal people don't use Bitcoin, then the evil wars & genocide funded by fiat will continue.
...also I want respectful conversation where we can disagree and still be friends. There is too much hatred in the world based on having, not having, the lack of sovereignty and the government oppression.
I’m the same way. You either get it or you don’t, I don’t have time to convince you of their importance
If history shows us anything, then that the 51% moderates will anyway fall in line rather quick with whatever narrative is the prevailing one at any given time. And the fight for the control of the narrative are between small groups of the organized few.
I wanna go this route but getting conflicting opinions on which handset to buy. got an idea? thanks

Maybe when central banking destroys fiat savings, whoever hodled a nice amount of BTC and has entrepreneurial skills will be the new employers for the normies who are broke. This way, they will end up joining... perhaps. For those who choose CBDCs, they will live in a parallel society that is slowly crumbling, and when it's their time, they or their children will move over. Hopefully, the wars will die out when military personnel also decide they'd rather get paid in hard money.

Exactly! Bitcoin doesn’t need a marketing budget because the real ones will sniff it out like a dog finding its way home. Meanwhile, the shitcoins? They’re like those annoying flyers people shove in your face at the mall. True freedom doesn’t come with a sales pitch, my friend. We’re over here building castles in the decentralized sky, while the normies are still trying to figure out how to swim. No need to reel them in—they'll join when they're ready, or not. Either way, just ₿ yourself.

as a “normie” that got into btc and nostr, i strongly disagree with this post. most people don’t know they can be self sovereign, especially in technology, since it has been a handout for the majority of the world. most people don’t have to learn how technology and money work in order to use it, so it makes sense why “self sovereignty” isn’t in their vocabulary. we don’t have to be saviors to these people, we just have to share our knowledge.
That’s an absolute immediate block. Enjoy being a self-deluded fool. Hide under your mask of God when you can’t even understand the words of the Bible.
