My hope? That anyone who buys Bitcoin with money they didn’t earn gets lit up….individuals, corporations, even sovereigns Proof of Work was never just a consensus mechanism, it’s the ethos. If I’m in the red stacking sats I worked for, so be it. If you can accumulate Bitcoin without lifting a finger…what did you actually earn? Bitcoin without sweat is just another shitcoin. Let the opportunists get smoked while i humbly keep accumulating sats with every pay check. #ProofOfWorkOrBust #Bitcoin 🍿

Have fun with your privacy shitcoin while we figure out how to fix the money so we can start to fix the world Nobody outside of criminals that I do not want anywhere near my family want to accept your shitcoin and that will likely never change You monero people are delusional clowns.

Fix the money means exactly what it says Gold led us to fiat and fiat has created the distorted system we currently all live under. Until we fix the money everything else is a distraction Bitcoin fixes the money. Meanwhile you think some niche privacy coin actually matters and spend all your time on here bashing bitcoin and shilling your shitcoin. You guys are no better than Ethereum shills at this point

A deflationary currency doesn't fix the money, that's why Nixon abandoned the gold standard because it didn't give the economy the money it needed to operate. Because as most Saylor Maxis have proven they just spend fiat, and hold Bitcoin in the hopes it's value continues to go up, they don't intend to spend, or use it at all. Whereas with Monero its "inflation" will stay under 1% in perpetuity. In almost every market where Bitcoin, and Monero compete Monero usually Dominates.

These people are incapable of being reasonable. If #bitcoin is going to win as free market money it will be adopted by governments and corporations, that was always very obvious. But these entities have no control over the money or its key properties and that’s why it’s so important in being a critical vector in changing their behaviors for the better over time. Now shitcoiner’s try to use the fact that Bitcoin is winning the adoption battle as a “gotchya”. It’s pretty bizarre but at its root just existential cope from the losers. The fact remains monero is and will continue to be completely irrelevant. I’ve never met anyone who has monero or wants monero or even knows what it is. Never heard it mentioned on time in the real world. There are a few monero trolls on #nostr but no vendors accept it or want it. Xmr is economically inert excrement.

I have monero and want monero. You probably don't hear about it because the monero bros are even more embarrassing than the bitcoin maxis, and no one wants to be associated with them. Both have merits and uses.

Yeah there are maybe a dozen people on Nostr who are monero enjoyers. But this a global platform for people interested in cryptography and freedom. It is a purpose-built protocol to attract that type of person and monero representation is still tiny. Even on Nostr no successful vendors that I’m aware of want or accept monero. It’s totally irrelevant sans the 5 clowns who spend all of their finite time arguing about monero with bitcoiner’s on Nostr. Very pathetic way the xmr boys of Nostr spend their life. In the actual world I’ve never heard a single person mention monero once. And I’ve heard many mentions of other shitcoins over the years. I personally know 3 people who have adopted bitcoin properly and use it as well.

Let them try to change the 21m hard cap or restrict the ability for us to run nodes and audit supply/transact without having to rely on a third party Until that actually happens nobody controls the money and you can continue to larp that bitcoin is failed and captured

Gold is inefficient but not failed. People used to settle in gold with coins, etc. but preferred cash because the technology to make gold lighter, and more portable didn't exist until very recently. The gold inefficiency problem has been improved upon with goldbacks. Bitcoin took away currency control on the internet, and was an amazing proof on concept that allowed better cryptocurrencies to arise. I agree that without Bitcoin as a prototype other projects probably wouldn't have been made but like any technology innovation is inevitable. And most people agree that Monero, and Z-cash are the next technological upgrades to Bitcoin.

Ugh you have no idea who i am or what my goals are. Yes i want to get wealthy and will put in the work to do so. I am not jealous of those with more than I have though The biggest problem with fiat and the current system is the ones with the most are the ones that control the issuance and usage. They change the rules when they need to so they can continue to be the largest holders. “Its a big club and we aren’t in it” - George Carlin Bitcoin levels the monetary playing field. The large holders cannot change the rules. If they want to continue to be large holders they need to earn more than they spend by providing value to world. Otherwise they will spend and not be large holders anymore Stay humble and stack sats

Monero is used more than Bitcoin (LN or onchain) at ANY vendor that accepts both. VASTLY more in most cases. XMR mcap is 10x the Lightning network. If Monero is economic shit, LN is so even more. and I use all the above options.

Every arrest because of Monero has usually been because they were swapping out of Monero, and into Bitcoin and using custodial services to pay them. This wouldn't happen if the people used KYC services but it's generally hard to put illicit gains back into the system, Bitcoin, Monero, or fiat, etc.

I don't see that as any different than Bitrefill. Obviously Bitcoin, and Monero aren't as easily spendable in fiat land yet unfortunately. The goal should be to make both as spendable as possible. But even if we assume 100% become BTC only for crypto then monero would just use swapping services instead to spend. I could spend Monero, and you get bitcoin, and you wouldn't know it unless you used an advanced AML system that tracks swapping services. And let's assume if the global economy was 100% Bitcoinized then some malicious people would see others balances unless merchants used 3rd party custody, or advanced obfuscation methods like coinjoins, payjoins, or whirlpools, etc. But those who didn't would be attacked if they had large BTC amounts. This would become common enough where people would begin to save in privacy assets instead to protect themselves.

>transact without having to rely on a third party this is already restricted in the protocol because "muh decentralization" and every method of getting around it makes centralized lightning companies irrelevant, so they all scream "ossify" and nothing gets done. YOU can do it today because most people just use a centralized third party. if most people try to do it, it becomes unaffordable. this is completely on purpose

Fentanyl / meth / opioids ≠ cannabis but wouldn’t expect you to understand. I really don’t care to tell others they can’t sell or consume any substance. But I personally would never respect or have any association with someone who sold drugs of death. I find them abhorrent as human beings.

If Bitcoin is gonna win, it will end the era of the Mega-state and all it's state sponsored Monopolies funded via the money printer. If the current governments and fiat dependent corporations attempt to do anything with Bitcoin it will be for the sole purpose of usurping Bitcoin's goal as the fiat replacement.

Good thing I'm here to do all the judging then. Others shouldn't sell or consume fentanyl, meth, opioids, or cannabis. People should live an authentic life, and people should make their living producing something that doesn't have to interfere with people's internal signaling before it will appear valuable to anyone. I don't give a shit about whether a drug harms someone's health and neither should anyone else. Fentanyl, meth, opiods, and cannabis would all be bad even if they didn't have any adverse long term health effects. The problem is the direct short term affects.

It sounds like an issue of fairness to you. If you didn't feel like you were being cheated out of your fair share then you wouldn't care how distorted or broken the system was. To me though it's an issue of responsibility. I am willing to face any sort of unfair treatment if it means I get to be in control of my own transactions.

Not at all because cannabis at worst is harmless and at best, medicinal. Meth, opioids and drugs like fentanyl destroy the human body and mind and make users dangerous. Cannabis doesn’t do that. If you can’t tell the difference then I don’t trust your judgement.

Do you really not get it? I don't give a shit about whether a drug destroys the human body or how people act while on the drug. Fentanyl, meth, and opiods would all be bad even if they didn't have any adverse long term effects on the human body or mind and even if people taking these drugs were perfectly well adjusted while under the influence. Cannabis is an exogenous ligand thqt interferes with the human body's internal signaling mechanisms. Cannabis isn't sustainance and it bypasses human sensory organs to manipulate people from the inside. The effects that cannabis has on us are shallow, inauthentic, and meaningless. Try me!

bro... cannabis is definitely harmful. it can be medicinal, too... but don't get it twisted. the whole argument that you can't kill somebody with THC could very well be accurate, but that doesn't mean it's harmless by any means. This is why you feel that giving your product to 5 year olds would be a bad idea. i say this as somebody who uses it, and plenty of other substances.
