Musk’s Twitter/X has recently lost a lot of big advertisers after some seeming endorsements that Musk made on some anti-Semitic posts.
Do I think Musk is anti-Semitic? No. I just think he is a cuck, frankly.
Like, he will say one thing if the wind is blowing that direction, and then say the other thing if the wind starts to blow otherwise.
He cares what Xi Jinping thinks which is pretty consistent, and cares about the political tide in the US which blows back and forth. His recent anti-Semitic confirmations were likely just an instance of him leaning too quickly in one way, and being caught out on it. He tried to be vague but it didn’t work. And then he backpedaled.
Meanwhile, Musk also actively caters to leaders of countries that request (and receive) the most content takedown requests on Twitter/X, like Modi and Erdogan, as long as they are potential markets for SpaceX and Tesla. Under the leadership of Musk, Twitter/X statistically agrees to government takedown requests for content at a much higher rate than the company previously did. It’s just mostly outside of the US now, so all of our domestic discourse is about freedom.

Musk previously catered culturally more to woke folks, like in 2021 when he said Tesla would resume accepting bitcoin payments only when bitcoin was over 50% “clean”. He needed those ESG vibes back then. But now that the woke trend turned into a based trend, he shifted to ride more on that one instead. He posts way less about the environment and way more about socio-cultural issues now.
Musk is likely not dumb/small enough to be personally against any particular ethnicity or religion of people as a group. He clearly thinks bigger and more pragmatically than that.
Instead, he is just trying to stick his finger in the air, measure the winds, and lean in any momentum direction culturally.
Meanwhile the large corporate advertisers like Apple and Disney advertisers who dropped Twitter/X for advertising are also doing similar. They are pulling back in the heat of the moment to gauge public perception, and then will move forward slowly based on polls and research. It’s the same vibe as when they put up rainbow flags on their domestic Twitter/X accounts but then of course don’t dare do the same for their Middle East accounts. Region by region polling and brand management. Never genuine, always calculated.
Anyway, good morning.

The longest GM I've ever seen. GM.
He will lean the way he thinks most money can be made. And he guessed wrong this time.
Nail on the head with this. I’ve been drafting an essay called “Musk’s Many Costumes” trying to get at this point.
Musk will don any costume, adopt any role, and take any position that suits his businesses at that moment. He is the ultimate actor 🎭

Mostly agree.
And I can't stop thinking of that supposed quote from Tytler:
"A democracy can only exist until the majority of people discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury."
Pillage while you can and it sounds virtuous, and buy votes. And then backpedal when things go too far and there's a populist uproar.
I.e. it's ultimately our own fault and people need to pay closer attention. Average BS detector is weak.
Fair take.
Lyn you are always on the sats!
Amazing Post! Thank you & GM!
Big advertisers will soon use @zapadd 😝
The post is excellent, before any individual or company take any step or steps concerning public one must first consider pros and cons, see now, great advertisers are now living, X must reconsider it's step before it is too late.
Everyone a slave to their own greed
GM. No lies detected. 🤙
Did you have a coffee before choosing violence or did you just decide to jump straight in?
Biden is best example of this ( because he has been playing this game the longest, half a century to be exact ). He was against Public School integration of Blacks and Whites because he said it would create " a racial Jungle " ... but that was way back in the day when such attitudes were popular ... Biden was so Racist that Obama himself refused to endorse him ...
but the tide has shifted, so Biden went on Radio and said " if you don't vote for me you ain't black " ... and then he picked a woman of color as his VP ...
Good morning. Musk may or may not just be “sticking his finger in the wind” but that is certainly a very risky way to operate and won’t be tolerated. We are in a time where you can’t walk on the fence line. You are either in the light or in the dark. You can try and walk the fence line but it won’t work anymore in the new energy society is in. And that is a good thing. Many many more will choose the light and humanity will evolve into a higher level of consciousness. The age of barbarism is coming to an end.
Behold a Pale Horse
Just a government DARPA shill if you asked me.

Musk plays the game for himself.
Apple, Disney, the BIS and all other corporate giants play the game to the lowest common denominator because there is a ton of vig to be had there.
Said another way. Musk usually takes the hard road and pulls out all the marketing opportunities. He enjoys the game of cat and mouse and knows how to execute in a high risk/high reward environment. He’s also good at suckering billionaires who can’t afford to look bad so they bring in their friends and new money when the outlook isn’t looking so good; just to save face.
Disney/Apple, etc. take the easiest road possible (marketing to the masses) because they know little effort is required for easy profits and extremely high margins. Herding sheep isn’t exactly tough and a very profitable business in the digital age. Plus, it’s reliable and repeatable when the narrative changes. There are just so many new ways to spin up easy profits when dealing with the lowest common denominator.
this is must read post for someone who has been simping Musk for years. He may not be able to digest these facts initially but as the time goes, he will probably start thinking more and more about this criticism.
It's very well written.

@allen we need "A Tale of Two Musks"
The dude is just good at raising money.
Musk is a defense contractor who want to be the first data baron with X. He desperately wants to copy the CCPs WeChat, which isn’t a good no matter how you spin it

Corporations see the roadmap drawn up in their annual strategic planning, before publicly giving their opinion on what suits them, and where it suits them.
Las corporaciones ven la hoja de ruta trazada en sus planeaciones estrategicas anuales, antes de opinar publicamente lo que les convenga, y en donde les convenga.
Se parece a la politica?... Maybe

Your hatred has made you strong.

Daddy Starmusk has done exactly two things with his life, spent other people's money and been a complete douchecanoe. Period.
Only losers are still talking about twitter
The specific post was the actual truth. You may not be smart/ big enough to see it. But otherwise, most of what you say is true.
Another terrible take on Musk. You are just cherry picking some controversial things he did. Using fake news aggregators as Forbes doesn’t make your analysis any more credible.
I'd say he is actually navigating - not cucking. The only choices for some countries is to either not have X allowed at all, or provide the people there with a handicapped X but which at least provides some openness, plus ability to network and explore.
Staying on Xi's good side should be on every leaders priority list, too. Doesn't mean you do his bidding, or even have to consider his wishes much, but you are a blind fool to play the card of being a moral superior with the worlds probably second most important human. And Musks business in China is something a whole lot of people, not just him, depends on. As long as he doesn't have to make egregious sacrifices against his conscience, being friendly only serves both.
That's the difference between politics - and business. 😉
Around the anti-semitic tired brawls, there's just not a good side or correct decision to be had in that whole mess. Most people would be well recommended to say as little as possible about the horrors going on there right now. When we can honestly say we've gotten real information and evidence, it's time to judge. Musk did take the side of what has to be considered the diplomatically viable one at the current time.
I've never pegged him as not genuine. At all. And that's probably almost unique at that level of fame and influence, I can't say I can think of a single other widely famed person I don't find incredibly false. I also have not, so far - yet, been given a reason by him to change that impression. He hasn't been caught doing anything that conflicts with what he openly intended, afaik.
Genuine is not opposite of calculated.
If you are not calculated at that level of industry, you will be short lived, and so will your companies. At the same time, by calculating correctly you also have the freedom of being actually open and genuine, which is vital to gather and keep real talents, and a few of the genuises around. Which you need in businesses like sending the human race to other planets.
He wouldn't have gotten halfway to the current amazing rockets or the cybercar, if he were dishonest or untrustworthy - or whose word could not be counted on.
You're selling him short. And I suspect you are confusing the impression Aspergers gives, and how cold and calculated sociopaths vibe. It's insanely opposite each other, but kinda looks/feels the same to the unitiated/experienced. 😉
