In the washroom today I dried my hands after washing them. As I did I recalled the old school hand driers like the ones pictured.
Since when did we decide it's good to dry our hands quickly? Since when did drying our hands fast make a difference to our day. Maybe we could fit more time in at work. Or maybe it helps us to spend more time with family. Like seconds, only to actually spend more time on our phones on the endless scroll.
There is value in being slow and noticing the detail. The gratitude that we have electricity and running water to wash our hands in the first place.
