I don’t have a crystal ball. All I know is that with things like the UK’s digital ID inevitably eventually tying into CBDCs and internet usage, the need for technologies that allow us to escape that level of tyranny will only grow. Nostr and Bitcoin are perfectly situated to protect our ability to communicate and transact.

Quite the opposite. History is full of examples of people suffering unthinkable levels of tyranny from their governments, and yet time and again humanity finds ways to combat it, and in some cases to free ourselves from it. It is a cycle, and what we are seeing now with digital ID and CBDC is the latest iteration of it. The point is that as we stare at what’s coming, we also have tools that give us a chance to stand up to it and perhaps in some cases even thwart it. You don’t have ignore the looming threats to freedom to acknowledge that we have ways to combat them. Some will succeed and some won’t, just like every other time in history. Have hope friend. 🫡
