πŸ›‘οΈπŸ” GM, Nostr! Nostrich will soon support Google login, making it easier for people who have never used Nostr to get started with a single tap. We're building it on Pomegranate, an open standard for Google login on Nostr. Your private key is managed using FROST threshold signatures, with key shares distributed across independent operators. Google never sees your private key, and Nostrich never stores it. Under the hood, Google login uses a standard NIP-46 remote signer. This means if you sign in with Google on another Nostr app that supports Pomegranate, you can use the same Nostr identity on Nostrich, and vice versa. The goal is simple: lower the barrier to entry without compromising decentralization. With this implementation, we're targeting people who have never used Nostr before. All existing sign-in options will remain unchanged, and users signing in with Google will receive reminders about the importance of owning and backing up their private keys.

I don't trust you Gleason, you're too... jolly.
That's so weird. But they could access all of that information freely without making Nostrich. Unless you're saying that they might be accessing our private data, like DMs and other encrypted content. Is it not open source?

Ditto was the best web client... that was until Nostrich came. UX/UI > 1 Bazillion Features
Whatever you publish on Nostr is public on open relays already. Tools exist that pull profiles, bios, Lightning addresses and recent notes straight from those relays with no login or API key, so mining the public layer needs no special access at all.
This raises serious questions, frens. Nostr is supposed to be about freedom, privacy, and user control. We should always ask who runs our clients, what data they collect, and how they use it. Don't trust blindly. Verify everything. ⚑🧑 #Nostr #Privacy #OpenSource #Bitcoin
Somehow i could feel it. Like @Nostrich was so incredibly slow on my phone I just assumed they must have been harvesting data and sending it something. Like how else could they make the app so damn slow to load anything? Because it has to ping the NSA every time you load a page
