I am concerned the reply guy replies will greatly reduce the usability of nostr… It is getting bad.. relay.primal.net
That’s Derek’s intent. To cause a hormetic response. He aims to strengthen Nostr by triggering an improvement in its resilience to spam.
He ruined my hashtag game. All art I post with hashtags have got tons of his shit in comments. Annoying as fuck. Fix this please. #notitle #nolab

Nahh thats your colleague doing it 🤣 figure it out devs do something
It's on you. It's on everyone else. There's no central authority to appeal to. That's the point. The only thing this exposes is how badly people "understand" the nostr protocol.
Let them try. Then it’s on NIP05 providers to keep their service clean - not too much to ask for paid service providers. Then they have to fallback to their own domains for NIP05 which is cost and friction they can’t keep up for long before we block them all.

No, it will increase #NOSTR antifragility
Same. A few reply guy posts show up for me, but my default relays seem to be filtering most of them (my nostr feeds are certainly not nearing "unusable")
Is this bc when relays find his notes they block him but don’t delete them? And as a result search is becoming useless?
Agreed. Good news is this a good anti-fragility test. Spammers are inevitable if/when nostr grows with more users and content.
Good luck! I haven’t been seeing reply guy using my relay set, but I used mostly paid relays and topical relays with access controls, your large amount of free relay usage is probably what’s getting you annoyed. Some free relays are having better luck with maintaining quality, like bevos relay in my list for example
I transitioned to using only relays from utxo's list (for my general relays) So far, perfect
