Bad marketing for Nostr clients to position as “wallets.” Being money-obsessed is low-status. And social media is all about status.

STAY HUMBLE AND STACK ZAPS
Some mobile clients are reluctantly taking that route to appease Apple who is trying to enforce their App Store tax on zapping content directly. (This makes Apple the highest margin bitcoin exchange in the world right now.) Tech leadership needs to help apply pressure on Apple for being on the wrong side of history. If they don’t adjust soon they risk irking the wrong people and risk disruption.
"social media is all about status" We're all plebs on here Welcome ✌️
in the old fiat world, it's about credentialism status, but we are entering a new hard money world and it will celebrate proof of work status
what happens when someone goes viral on nostr and transparently get rich infront of the world???
It's ultimately an overlay network for lightning, it's only shitcoiners calling it a wallet proper

Between zaps, nwc, and the increasingly powerful kind 21000, Nostr's clear product-market-fit is as a lightning overlay network and coordination layer... "Layer 3" ECashers want to muddle this with shitcoins but we know shitcoiners can only imitate ShockWallet and Lightning.Pub are the OG nLightened stack

Um. Just to open up a conversation. Don't blame the messenger… but says the guy with a post on how to get rich.

why do you say that? the other stuff doesn't work without the social media part I think
Funny when people with lots of money preach about not being obsessed with money....then go on to say being 'money-obsessed is low status' when their entire 'status' has been built around making money
Wallet is also not just about money. It holds you ID, driver's license, health insurance card etc...
Hi Miljan! I’ve recently switched over to Primal full-time after Damus updated to a chat-like post format yesterday. I’m loyal to the classic thread format from old Twitter. Although, Primal is missing a few fundamental features that are hard to live without… features that are vital to the network effect, security, and data discoverability on nostr. 1. The “Followed by” discovery feature that Damus & X have, seen in the photo, are so important for a social media with such a small network effect. 🌐 When I review a new account, this “Followed by” feature lets me see how many mutual acquaintances we have in common. It’s like a manual Web of Trust. Much easier to confirm real accounts and assess strangers. 2. I should be able to go to your profile, open your list of relays, and tap on the new relays I want to connect to. The relays in the list I’m already connected to can be present too, but with a different icon beside them, just like on Damus. Preventing users from being able to discover the relays of people they follow is antithetical to nostr’s philosophy of data portability. We should make moving relays as easy as possible rather than relying on Primal’s giant cache layer. Will these features be in Primal’s 2.0 version? I hope so. Basic infrastructure. 👊
Sound money is my time and energy stored and available to me anytime to send via Nostr to anyone globally. Nothing low status about that. Nostr is a protocol that enables me to be free among many other things Low status to me is being on Twitter needing followers to validate your nonsense. Empty legacy BS
Private zaps and profile zaps from Damus don’t register on Primal. 3rd feature request! Sending a private message with a Zap is the best. 🙏
