There seem to be a lot of talk about bitcoins here. I’m not very interested in that. Are nostr just for people interested in bitcoins? image

the mentality of freedom and sovereignty is the same, whether economical or social.. that's why bitcoiners adopt nostr easily.. but no, you just need to curate your feed as you like

There are many Bitcoiners but there are many other people with varied interests. Search and follow lots of people. And post lots of fractal art! I make fractal art too 🙏🏻
No, you dont have to be interested in bitcoin. There's a lot of lists of accounts out there that focus on other stuff. Try out different hashtags based on your interests This is just an example:

#FollowFriday: interesting Nostr users that are NOT posting about Nostr and Bitcoin. :) Diversify your feed, follow them! @npub1rt65...0y9g: rug designer from Iran, amazing patterns and more @npub1tq84...9jwx your daily dose of stoic quotes @npub1shvk...rmg2: just beautiful pictures of flowers @npub1yy3u...kawc: economic commentary and insights from a China-based business advisor => Reply with your non-Bitcoin, non-Nostr favorite accounts, thanks!

I am not a btc person at all. I was initially a bit interested but not now. I mostly follow outside of that topic. I did meet nice maxi people. I do have a periodical "woo, not in the club, should I leave?" mode. But still here.
Nostr folks aren’t just interested in bitcoin but that is the largest community of users. One of my projects is to make it easier to find and cultivate many different kinds of communities on Nostr. What kind of music do you compose?
Hey welcome! Nostr apps like Damus allow you to mute notes with words you dont want to see!
No there's lots of fun different things on here. It's a great place to be. It just takes some time which actually makes it more enjoyable that there's no algorithm to feed you exactly what you want when you want it. But thats also takes time to enjoy.
Not seeing this in the replies yet, but: The overlap between bitcoiners and tech-early-adopters is almost 100% I love your pieces so far and hope you keep posting. 😊👍👍
How did you make this piece? Is it digital? Doesnt look fractal to me
This user deleted his profile shortly after joining Nostr, but it wasn't because of the community. If you read the early comments before he deleted his profile, you'll see Nostriches providing help. They're giving him instructions on how to find tune his feed, choose his own algorithm, and make the most of Nostr - no matter the content. I don't think we as a community could have done any better in this example. I believe this failure at user retention was not at the fault of the community, but more so on the user not willing to learn. Could we have done better? Sure. There's always room for improvement. However, the user needs to be willing to learn as well. They need to be willing to step outside their comfort zone, just a little, and learn. Better luck next time.

I think the Bitcoin mindset just gets a large portion of people here… they have the same thought process. But the more people join, the more diverse it becomes.

Nostr needs more artists 🙂 #grownostr
No, feel free to talk on any topic or share your art, follow others you like. There are tons of people that do not talk about Bitcoin here. But still, I would recommend setting up a Bitcoin Lightning Wallet so people can zap you (send bitcoins) instead of just pressing like. Bitcoin is money in the end 😉
Hi! welcome to Nostr 💜 You just need to create your own experience: do searches for topics that interest you, and make sure to follow those people and hashtags. I've learned a lot on here in several areas that have nothing to do with bitcoin.
