If the nostr critics on X actually used nostr enough to understand it, they would understand why their criticisms sound so ridiculous to the point that they wouldn’t hold those criticisms at all.

What criticisms are they using other than network effect (“nobody is there”)?
These are common criticisms I’ve seen over and over. But the thread in particular from today is from Parker Lewis about CEOs being arrested 😂😂
It's really hard to think their criticisms are normal and self motivated. Each time I see their complaints it looks more like a paid chill than anything else.
Hi, I'm new here! Is this the right Nostr place - decentralized social media app? Asking because I couldn't find an actual Nostr app. Secondly, this looks exactly like Twitter/X. What's new or different besides decentralization? Thanks in advance!
Every app on nostrapps.com is a Nostr app. Just like email clients and web browsers, they all use protocols, Nostr is no different. Welcome.

that nostr is a protocol and decentralized. with that said, the next app could be a decentralized discord built on nostr protocol, or a telegram built on nostr protocol or why not an Instagram built on nostr protocol.
This is a platform build on top of Nostr protocol. Like gmail build on top of SMTP.
What's new? Two big things are: No adds, no algorithm. You only get who you chose to follow / engage
Welcome. You're definitely in the right place. And decentralized and uncensorable is the feature. Dont spend your time and energy building relationships on an app that can be taken from you by the stroke of a key just because you said something someone doesn't like. This is the Freedom of Speech protocol image
Hello and welcome, not sure what app you are on but it’s working on the nostr protocol so yes it’s the right one. There are tons of different apps that run on nostr and new ones coming out all the time, play around with it, post notes of stuff you like, follow people that post cool stuff, and don’t be shy. Enjoy. 😊
I wonder when the platforms will start spinning up bots to increase positive, fun engagement for their human users in hopes of better retention, like what some online video games do when the user base is lackluster.
Since finding out about Nostr, I’ve been thinking of an Instagram style app or an even a TikTok style app built on it. This protocol is cool

Are the CEOs the client devs or the relay operators? Are they in the room with us now?
‘If this is the first time running a node, you have to fight!’
Who will groom our blackmailed politicians? Who will fake our elections? Who will protect the drug cartels? Who will engineer our consent? Who will delete our posts? Who will traffic our children?

Can you send her to London sharpish, please.
As a former farm kid, just be sure to square them away on rollover risks, restraining belts, augers and PTO’s. My Dad had me all over the county on a 1950’s era Massey as soon as I was old enough, and I was fine. But I did lose a cousin to a rollover. He got thrown from the seat when he ran a tire up over some pallets and his head ended up between the roll bar and the driveway.

Yeah roll bars only work if you wear your belt. Better off without the bar if you don't wear it. My Ag teacher loved to tell the story of a local kid who had both his arms sanded off by a round bailer. He was clearing a jam, and the PTO kicked in without warning. Since his wounds were abrasive we was able to walk a couple miles for help without bleeding out.
Will do, thank you. We definitely preach and practice the risks and take everything in baby steps. She won't be operating this thing for a number of years, I imagine, and will make sure she's ready. Sorry about your cousin 🫂
I think it’s awesome that they are getting an opportunity to learn how to work and have responsibilities early on. I had the best childhood and so much freedom growing up on a farm. Shooting, driving, and vanishing for hours into the bush. That and lots of hard work.
💯, trying to get them addicted to the real world and real work vs the screen
