Do you mean orbot?
One of those don't like it then fork it scenarios. I prefer for but there is a need for normie friendly clients.
The whole thing about Nostr being an open protocol that anyone can build on means you don't have to cater for everyone.
Bitcoin gives worse privacy to normies than banks. That's why more Bitcoiners settle on Monero Nostr will give worse privacy to normies than other "social" media if not coming with sane defaults like Tor. Let specialists disable it. People need to learn about the different attack vectors. You can combine things if you know what you do. There are many different things to consider. I would run it on i2p if wisp had that option.
Were on Nostr and using Bitcoin. Pretty sure they are πŸ˜†
Age blocks will increase government attacks, blocking address space or dns may become the norm for relays. Tor is not just needed, Tor is the first responder in this chaos, and it's too weak to handle all of this, but for a start it will stand its ground for some time.

I’m sure you know better but isn’t tor more robust while vpn is more susceptible to ISP and other 3rd party logging. Given the global age verification false flag/slippery slope effort, I’d say we need to do whatever we can to ensure a digital citadel.
But it's not only about privacy.. @Citrine is adding a "Expose relay over Tor" feature in 3.0.0 which means people can have their own personal relays on their phones
