Does visual cue of which notifications are new count as polish? It would make engaging with responses much easier. Just a color change on the categories and symbols down the left would work great for my use. (I know the backend is a bigger lift)

My first thought was looking at replies, the 💬 is orange. Make the categories orange like that for the unseen stuff and the current gray if all seen. Then do the same inside the list of replies with the 💬.
