No. 1. I can't. I don't do any other socials. 2. The assumption that people want to promote the "same, but different" stuff on nostr is why nostr isn't growing, IMO. 3. Until primal dies, I don't think social nostr is going to succeed. 4. There isn't enough otherstuff that's either really wildly cool or useful in ways that solve problems for a normie. 5. The thing is... Video increases the compute and storage needs exponentially. Without an exponential revenue stream, you cannot sustain video replication. Case in point: YouTube still looses money.

Yes. And they won't ever know it until is too late for them and to be blunt, us. My contention is that without completely alternative infrastructure, meaning not using ANYTHING from the current ubiquitous network (no IP, no DNS, no IEEE-standard WiFi, etc.), or eventually there will be no means of using that tech to communicate at all since if you will not auth on that network, you cannot use it. At all. Basically that leaves localized, flexible spectrum radio mesh networks. None of these will ever have the bandwidth or live times to transmit GB of data for video since they will be hunted and actively blocked by AI-controlled drones equipped with all manner of signal intercepting and jamming tech. The only solution is, IMO, to do without. Sneakernet files between non-compliant cells. Increase the use of non-compliant radio frequencies and encryption. Saturate areas with mesh network devices so that triangulation can't be locked down to a specific origination point easily. This is why, IMO, projects like #Alexandria are more vital to humanity's future than another kind-1 client. Being able to locally ingest data, format, and then standardize information which can then be spread by literally any electronic means is so much Moir valuable than wasting one's life delusionally ignoring that the very structure of the internet is going to be the ultimate means of exclusion and compliance.

If so I'll amend my statement: ubiquitous high-availability video delivery is not sustainable without intrusive ads or even worse data harvesting and revenue generation from selling "customer" data. Video is a really stupid format for most things. I am personally biased against it for a wide variety of reasons, and I openly admit that this colors how I approach everything on the internet.

Taxes are theft. Legal or not, paying little to no tax is the only way to not feed the war machines and the bankers running them. Tax evasion is actually entirely moral. All advertising on the internet from the big tech companies is selling you stuff and selling you to people trying to sell you stuff, and that feeds into the attention harvesting and control algorithms. Google, meta, Microsoft, apple, etc make money by selling your data and manipulating what you can and can't see. That's totally insulting and evil. Making a profit from a service is perfectly fine. Turning people into products is, IMO, not fine.

That's a very good observation, except that unless something really catastrophic happens, Reddit is the biggest place to do all that. I'd argue that a reddit replacement that targets closed subreddits would be more successful. Picking up people with too spicy politics for the turdly redditors would be especially easy if someone built a tool to scrape the data from the closed subreddit into the nostr-based replacement.
