How do you explain channel opening fees to someone you're onboarding? lots of friction and impossible to onboard a barber/waitress and tip them 10k sats on phoenix
For some newbies it can be hard to understand lightning channels and why they have to pay first to receive or send sats. I started with muun, but later I learned that they make submarine group transactions on-chain, sometimes yours pass with less sat/vb than what you've paid 🙃 ... and there is no lightning address. The perfect lightning wallet doesn't exist yet.
I suggest opening a big channel. If you plan to receive sats on this wallet, you might also want to loop some sats out to a custodial wallet or to liquid. Also, keep in mind that Phoenix adds on an extra 0.5% fee to every lightning payment you make. It’s a little expensive, but it works really well.
Not with Phoenix. Breez, Zeus, and Blixt are other node in phone wallets that allow you to connect to other nodes. Phoenix is only to ACINQ’s node.
Muun is a non-custodial wallet that just works and it works really well. The problem is that it’s expensive to use when onchain fees are high. There’s always tradeoffs. Also, there’s many custodial wallets that work well and are good enough to use for things like zapping.
I think that’s only if you’re moving your channels from Phoenix from one phone to another phone. To open a channel with Phoenix, you simply just send a payment to Phoenix. I suggest making a large payment to open a big channel.
Phoenix works great on android too. I'm a Ln relative newbie and phoenix is very intuitive ✔️ 👍 👌
There only advantage I can see for Aqua is that there doesn't appear to be a minimum seeding amount when receiving lightning. But the tradeoff is that you're holding LBTC, not lightning in a channel.
Bitcoin can’t scale! We need Bitcoin Banks 🏦 Federation or Fedemint. Liquid is a federation! iCloud backup means the elites have access to your wallet anyway so they are always tradeoff. Aqua give real cheap fees
I downloaded it a couple weeks ago as my first Lightning wallet and have used it to make two online purchases. It's pretty easy to use.
The only negative about phoenix compared to custodial wallets is the minimum amount first first send to the wallet and being hit with extra fees if you need more incoming liquidity.

Are you asking me if I’m interested? I have seen the compatibility wallet chart. Or you’re saying you’re interested?
