IT IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD
Additionally, non-custodial and easy enough to explain the mechanics
Only wallet solution that really makes a good lightning and on-chain single balance
I like to recommend telegram lntips for iPhone users
What about this

SPLICE IS NICE
BULLISH ON PHOENIX

ROBOSATS BOND COMPATIBILITY. ❌
I’ve tried zapping a few sats, it fails, thinking it is from this message, but I shouldn’t have to pay fees to zap sats, right?

How do you explain channel opening fees to someone you're onboarding? lots of friction and impossible to onboard a barber/waitress and tip them 10k sats on phoenix
but i-cloud is risky for key extraction attack every sing sat is precious
Can’t be used with nostr unfortunately, unless there has been an update
No lightning address, no party... 🤙
Sorry.
lol icloud 🙅♂️
If this is your first receive, a channel needs to be opened. Check Settings => Payment channels.
I think this is something different. You can set max fees/fee rate that you’re willing to pay when sending a payment. If it can’t find a route within that limit then the payment will fail.
😎
Why is it on the receive screen though?
Apple cucks need to use apple coin
What about Aqua?
It is my first receive and I haven’t opened a channel.. let me try that, thanks
Oh right you are. You can set max fees you’re willing to pay when a new channel needs to be open.

For some newbies it can be hard to understand lightning channels and why they have to pay first to receive or send sats.
I started with muun, but later I learned that they make submarine group transactions on-chain, sometimes yours pass with less sat/vb than what you've paid 🙃 ... and there is no lightning address.
The perfect lightning wallet doesn't exist yet.

I suggest opening a big channel. If you plan to receive sats on this wallet, you might also want to loop some sats out to a custodial wallet or to liquid. Also, keep in mind that Phoenix adds on an extra 0.5% fee to every lightning payment you make. It’s a little expensive, but it works really well.
Muun works well for that, but only for that, not for receiving your sats
Bitcoiners using Apple are truly dumb. "iCloud Backups" lmao... ngmi
Can I connect to my nostr.build node to keep fees low?
Not with Phoenix. Breez, Zeus, and Blixt are other node in phone wallets that allow you to connect to other nodes. Phoenix is only to ACINQ’s node.
No, but you can use @ZEUS as an interface to your node
Looks like only ASINQ, but still struggling to open the channel… This is the problem.. There needs to be a simple Lightning wallet that just works….
This is what I see.. Where do I find the ‘encrypted blob’ to open a channel?!?..

Muun is a non-custodial wallet that just works and it works really well. The problem is that it’s expensive to use when onchain fees are high. There’s always tradeoffs. Also, there’s many custodial wallets that work well and are good enough to use for things like zapping.
Love Phoenix, works very well, just be aware it is no more private than a custodial LN wallet

I think that’s only if you’re moving your channels from Phoenix from one phone to another phone. To open a channel with Phoenix, you simply just send a payment to Phoenix. I suggest making a large payment to open a big channel.
Ahhh, ok, let me try that
this is not exactly what I was looking for. Your opinion is greatly appreciated boss 🫡
Some argue their go to onboarding is custodial, like Primal or WOS. what are your thoughts?

Phoenix works great on android too. I'm a Ln relative newbie and phoenix is very intuitive ✔️ 👍 👌
I’ve just posted a guide on #lightning wallets in Russian. Working on translating it into English.
Phoenix is obviously one of the go-to apps, but there’s certainly lots of other fish in the sea..
- Zeus
- Valet
- Blixt
And more!

This os great.
What about for ios users?
Phoenix is the bomb - consistently impressed with the behavior and functionality. #neverFailedMeYet
There only advantage I can see for Aqua is that there doesn't appear to be a minimum seeding amount when receiving lightning. But the tradeoff is that you're holding LBTC, not lightning in a channel.
Bitcoin can’t scale! We need Bitcoin Banks 🏦 Federation or Fedemint. Liquid is a federation! iCloud backup means the elites have access to your wallet anyway so they are always tradeoff. Aqua give real cheap fees
Not open source yet
I downloaded it a couple weeks ago as my first Lightning wallet and have used it to make two online purchases. It's pretty easy to use.
Are you using Google's stock Android?
True 👍🏾
The only negative about phoenix compared to custodial wallets is the minimum amount first first send to the wallet and being hit with extra fees if you need more incoming liquidity.
I can't seem to post regular posts on my wall with Iris. Can someone suggest another app for using Nostr?
What wallet do you recommend that has privacy?
Interested in knowing who has this?
Are you asking me if I’m interested? I have seen the compatibility wallet chart.
Or you’re saying you’re interested?
Yes I’m very interested
I’d argue most people should be using a custodial wallet.
I LIKE AQUA EVEN BETTER. WAY LESS FEES.
yup, also asked tbast to increase the default fee so it just works again
