It’s hard to believe that the vast majority of people have no idea how fast and how hard nostr will change the world This must be the feeling 2010-bitcoiners must have felt

Must protect the relays, they will try and take them one day.
It’s ok. Outbox model makes that non-problematic. Though it might have a chilling effect on running relays in tyrannical jurisdictions such as North Korea, New York, etc
It bothers me that I can’t see it as clearly. Like with so many things that have made a difference, I’m attracted to it and like it but don’t know why. Have to look further into it.
No, we're a lot better than they were back then. They didn't have the resources and celebrity support back then. Now Bitcoin has blazed a trail through the wilderness.
Or care. Most will use whatever is convenient & what is popular. The same people if they ever acquire bitcoin will not take self-custody either. The notion that millions of people will flood to Nostr because Twitter, FB, TikTok etc are spying & selling user data is purely wishful thinking imo.
But if the network coalesces around a handful of large relays, there’s more room for censorship.
I am discovering the [signed events relayed] is the secret sauce. While we are experimenting with a Twitter replacement, the far more powerful model is the open authentic (censorship resistant) orchestration of digital services. New use cases await us!
you fucking idiot bitcoin literally made zero difference to the world except wasting an amount of energy that could have lifted entire nations out of poverty ...
Maybe, but Proof-of-Violence has bombed / couped quite a few countries into poverty over the same timespan, at a much greater cost in energy.
it is not my goal to offend anybody. it is more like janitorial work - i clean up the human garbage from the platform to maintain standards. too many idiots here think they have something intelligent to say and need to be put in their place ( under my boot ).
