Should we make March a Nostr only month? No Twitter. Nostr only. That gives you exactly one week to get your Twitter fix in. Who's with me?

Should be fairly easy for me. I will miss some folks buuuuut also not the end of the world
I have an incredible multiple RSS newsfeeds through feedspot.com and can create my own from almost any website using rss.app all scrolling across my multiple screens using Desktop Ticker, but thanks Bro, I'll check that out.
1) find your favorite news rss feed 2) visit rsslay.nostr.net 3) add them if they are not found 4) add wss://rsslay.nostr.net to your relays 5) follow the pubkeys that you generated above boom instant news on Nostr from your favorite news websites. (or twitter users if they aren't on nostr. just use nitter.net to get their rss feed.)
I want to try mastodon months ago and it was imposible to me to join without knowledge. On nostr protocol literally takes me 5 seconds to push events.
Fixed my twitter timeline with a js script to block algorythm and only read my follows in cronological order. This is a must.
So on board with this!! Today my family is celebrating fat Tuesday, the day before lent and I will be deleting every social except nostr. I know it will be worth it, and I encourage everyone religious or not to join no-twitter-march! #[0]

I've been doing that since December
The twitter refugees that went to mastodon and gave up likely never even tried soapbox or the good mobile apps. Search Engine Optimization for the fedi has been fucked since the media blitz of 2017. Also the walled garden instances joinmastodon.com funneled them into probably didnt tell them about soapbox on purpose. Also, a lot of the people here came from twitter and in many ways nostr is more similar to it than the fedi is. We can't really compare instances to relays because there's no real loyalty to them here. People publish to as many as they know about and (hopefully) pull down posts from just a few. Whereas on fedi people identify with their instance and the instances close to them and communities form. Communities on Nostr are more like twitter. Just like minded posters in a giant public pool with no clear boundary. I'm not sure nostr will ever replicate what the fedi has, and I think thats ok image
Absolutely no way - most of the clients are still alpha grade. If Damus was available on Android / Web then we'd be in a much better place. We are half baked at the moment! #Onwards
The real question is who are we going to send over there to spread the Nostr ostrich memes?
The pool is not that giant here because you have to choose what relays to see posts from and the web clients don’t work with many relays. Federation and user discovery better on fedi
Thats kind of the idea behind posting to several. We may not read from the same relays for each feed but my posts are still highly available Finding people for me so far hasn't been too big of a problem

I would support it 💪
I'm down! Already silenced all twitter notifications on two of my devices and life is alot more serene and tranquil... as it should be. #MarchOffTwitter #RunningOnNostr
Starting in one week: #MarchOffTwitter 🥁🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏿‍♂️🚶🏻🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏽🚶🏿🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏽‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶🏾 Spread the word. #[1]
Been considering doing the same, but I have been cloned a few times and worried that if I don't maintain a presence on Twitter, more people will get scammed. Perhaps it's time to let go of that concern....
I deleted Twitter few days ago. Now using Nostr instead. I do not miss it :)
i want to tag maybe: daniel but i cannot. snort is being difficult with tagging this morning. he came up with the hashtag after i posted this.

I’m already there: I no longer worry about macro, munger, or macron. Instead, I follow dudes with gifs of their dong. I don’t give a shit if Trudeau’s socks are nice I don’t ever check price I keep twisting my kids tits Because I’m obsessed with nips Instead of an algo showing me five crimes I’m watching Will update Damus nine times I used to need a mid day nap. Now I zap, while I’m taking a crap. I no longer here screams I fall asleep to purple dreams.

It would be awesome if in April we could see the usage stats on Twitter for #MarchOffTwitter to see it’s impact!
efnet! taking me back to the days now! And count me more than in. Already disabled all twitter notifications and wiped it off half my devices. Life is much better. Much much better.
snort says Michael Saylor is following me, but I don't think he is

Give up Twitter for lent
How about never use twitter again? Your better off on TheFediverse than Twitter
Did the relays you use change between clients? The client you use shouldn't have anything to do with spam you're seeing
The problem with Iris is it sends notifs for other people's posts and the threading breaks down all the time. It's the best looking client but it's unstable. Although I had a ton of relays, so maybe it'll work better now that I've trimmed them down.
Haha, I almost want to try to log in again just so I can log off with a dramatic flourish in March. Almost. 😂
Ok can’t do multiple quote notes..had to try..😂😂😂
since i discovered nostr i almost don't go on twitter anymore. Then around here there are no newspapers and news from my part of the world
I don't understand? I wasn't talking about relays. I've already sent you the ones I use.
Here is a list of my rss feeds which I run in a scrolling program called Desktop Ticker: <outline text="ZeroHedge News" xmlUrl="http://feeds.feedburner.com/zerohedge/feed" /> <outline text="Crypto" xmlUrl="http://rss.feedspot.com/folder/980732/rss" /> <outline text="World News" xmlUrl="https://rss.feedspot.com/folder/4xXLtmQe6w==/rss/rsscombiner" /> <outline text="The Unz Review:" xmlUrl="https://www.unz.com/xfeed/rss/all/" /> <outline text="Gold Goats 'n Guns" xmlUrl="https://tomluongo.me/feed/" /> <outline text="Kunstler" xmlUrl="https://kunstler.com/feed/" /> <outline text="The New American" xmlUrl="https://thenewamerican.com/feed" /> <outline text="Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog" xmlUrl="http://feeds.feedburner.com/UsaWatchdog" /> <outline text="MintPress News" xmlUrl="https://www.mintpressnews.com/rss/" /> <outline text="The Vineyard of the Saker" xmlUrl="http://thesaker.is/feed/" /> <outline text="Oilprice.com" xmlUrl="https://oilprice.com/rss/main" /> <outline text="naked capitalism" xmlUrl="https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/feed" /> <outline text="Shadow Government Statistics" xmlUrl="http://www.shadowstats.com/feed" /> <outline text="The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation" xmlUrl="https://www.mid.ru/en/rss.php" /> <outline text="Antiwar.com Original" xmlUrl="http://original.antiwar.com/feed" /> <outline text="Antiwar.com Blog" xmlUrl="http://feeds.feedburner.com/AWCBlog" /> <outline text="The Breakdown" xmlUrl="http://feeds.libsyn.com/133056/rss" /> <outline text="Infowars: There's a War on for Your Mind!" xmlUrl="https://www.infowars.com/rss.xml" /> <outline text="TNT Radio" xmlUrl="https://feed.podbean.com/tntradiolive/feed.xml" /> </body>
I think the big question on people's minds when the March on Twitter is coming to an end might be... Should I go back to Twitter? or Have I moulded enough of a home and community for me to use Nostr exclusively? I have a feeling March will be a very busy building month! The tools and clients available to the layman will be getting improved and updated so quickly I feel as the field of dreams line comes to fruition. If you build it. They will come.
