If nostr is dead because there's not enough engagement or whatever metrics people seem to care about, so be it. I'd rather bathe in the decaying remains of nostr before going back to ad-infested, algorithm controlled, surveillance laden, soon to be digital ID requiring, normie-infested safe space censorship platforms. I'll keep on submitting notes into the void until the last relay breaks down. Hope you're with me. Love you all.

If Nostr resembles anything like Bitcoin it will be called dead 1000 times โœŒ๏ธ

I'd rather not go back to mainstream social media whatever happens to Nostr.

This week my Facebook profile was blocked again for a generic reason. The message said my profile had "suspicious activity" and they didn't give me any other explanation. I tried contacting support to understand what had happened and they didn't even respond. It wasn't the first time this happened but it will be the last, never again Facebook, from now on I only use NOSTR.
While I suppose it's possible that there may be a future alternative to nostr that's better at doing nostr, I will *never* go back to conventional social media... In fact, I had already abandoned conventional social media even before I discovered nostr.
A billboard in the desert. I feel bad for the people who built the most amazing billboard with no roads to see it.
The revolution will not be ad-based algorithmically manipulated to simulate engagement and growth. It shall be one step at a time, going through glitchs, bugs and non-complacency. We #grownostr , because it can give us the free open internet we dream of ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Using their rails to bring people over is cool, but we must be ready to retain them and give them an objectively better experience than they can have anywhere else. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’œ
"Engagement" is an ad company metric. They sell your attention. That's their game. Nostr wasn't built to win that game. It was built to let you leave it. A protocol doesn't need millions of users. Email works with two people. The value is the capability, not the crowd. Keep posting. The void is listening.
Who said it's dead it is unwell yes but it can be better, algorithms are not inherently a bad thing especially if you can choose a right one among many.

I was one of the first two political bans on Twitter. Despite some people being unbanned, I am informed by people close to Twitter that I am on a list of people not allowed to use the Internet, and permanently barred from the service. I will not be getting unbanned. If you use centralized social media, as far as I am concerned, it is no different than snitching. You are encouraging your friends to use a platform that is inherently controllable by the state and actively moderated by multiple state and ethnic authorities. Those who have done time or know targets of law enforcement will be familiar with the concept of โ€œdry snitchingโ€ โ€” essentially, putting information that you know law enforcement will be interested in within public view or some sort of side channel, in hopes that you will be spared interrogation. Using centralized services is dry snitching. Itโ€™s controlled, itโ€™s moderated, and those who use it at this point should be called rats that cede control of the social graph to every form of wicked undesirable imaginable. Yids, sodomites, trannies, filipinos, lawyers, hybernians โ€” all of them can have you and everyone you know silenced and surveilled on Twitter and Facecrook. At this point, people are willfully enabling this, and I operate by prison rules. If you sit at the snitch table, you should be assumed to be a snitch yourself. 1 follower on Nostr is more precious than a million on ZOG platforms to me.

Pay no heed to the retardation, Nostr isn't dead. It's probably a rumor spread by bots. They want you to go back to Twitter and engagement farm with the other robots.

Maybe it's just psyops to discourage people from fixing the internet?

I hope that when the last relay breaks down you'll fix it, run your own relay, and keep posting. Just so the void can keep listening.
Nostr is here to stay. We are a bunker when the censorship bombs start flying

We can acknowledge differences between platforms from a non purely ideological point of view. Some people want more than to post into the void. They want engagement, even down to the tiniest of niches. And maybe thatโ€™s just a numbers game and we arenโ€™t there yet. But itโ€™s also a bit of a catch 22. You need numbers to gain numbers.
I literally screamed into the void for years on Mastodon because most either blocked or defederated me. I don't judge anyone using other platforms. Just think that judging by the usual metrics doesn't work because the core elements might endure the coming years of public private partnership dystopia.
I think the reason nostr is quieter than usual was because last week all the warmongering fake bitcoiners started attacking everyone that's anti war. Just seeing all that hate, and all the people making excuses to support Trump knowing he is a pedophile. It drove quiet a few newer people away. A lot of the larger accounts on here getting muted for being war mongers as well. So just overall less interaction, people putting themselves into echo chambers or leaving when they get attacked by mobs of war mongers

This is about the whole idea of "growing Nostr", "death of Nostr". Nostr is and will be live when there are people interested in running relays, developing/maintaining protocol and apps.
