What's your business model? We can all see your zap earnings, which on a lucky day might cover your Starbucks latte, so you're obviously not going full time nostr content creator anytime soon.
maybe the mindset i need is to start fleecing the current small user group of all their money. that must be his business plan. very insightful.

yup. for me it's kinda rich to have anyone on nostr criticise anyone else's business planing. where is this magic revenue pool?
I know this is you trying to take a shot at me, but that’s just your own foolishness showing. If I made enough to buy coffee each day here, I’d count that as a positive thing. You’re an idiot if you don’t. Full time nostr creator? No. But nostr can already be a viable portion of a content creator’s larger business plan. On nostr specifically, the value 4 value model works best, and there are several creators/artists earning a little bit here. Hopefully that can grow more over time as devs build things that are actually useful for them. Those same devs would benefit from that growth.

I appreciate what you're trying to promote, but I remain skeptical. Of these several creators and artists earning a little bit here, can you list the top 5?

If anyone is interested, I run a relay management class, 2nd Tuesday of every month, via ZOOM. This is my contribution, to the #Nostr community🙏🏻.
I don’t have a ranking, but a few that come to mind off the top of my head are @Ainsley Costello @Joe Martin 🎶🟠⚡ @Plebchain Radio @Bugle.News #40HPW🎧 @THE Bitcoin Podcast @🟠 isolabellart @Purple Painter . Some sell their work, some rely more on V4V. Most are probably on multiple platforms and use multiple methods of monetization, but that doesn’t negate the fact that nostr is part of what they’re doing, and that it has potential to become an even larger platform for their work as it grows. The easier it is for artists/creators to publish their work, engage with their audiences, and monetize their work, the better overall it will be for nostr’s growth. And that requires devs willing to focus on what users actually want and need.
I might not agree with you all the time corn but this is fire 🔥 I'll crawl back into my lurker hole now 🦀

Ha ha, don't people use that anymore🤷🏻‍♂️😂. You know me, that's still cutting edge, as far as I'm concerned🥳.
I personally post my paintings on my Telegram channel, on Instagram, on my website and obviously on Nostr, but only here have I had a fair amount of feedback, perhaps because I only accept Bitcoin. Today I wrote a reflection on being early in selling paintings for Bitcoin and why I think it's a privilege to have figured it out early.
corn is talking out of his ass.He is just mad we don’t prioritize things he wants. We talk to our users every day in our feedback signal groups

When you start doing them via HiveTalk, I'm interested. 😉
Honestly, I think it’s high octane fuel to be in the rejected OpenSats club. I applied with Zap Cooking and had this moment afterward like, what if I actually get it… then what? Sure, things would be easier. Faster launch. Some marketing money. A little comfort. And in that moment, I actually got scared I might get approved. It made me realize I was quietly hoping I wouldn’t. Nothing great was ever built from comfort. Corn is right. You have to obsess over what your customers actually want and build for them first. If it’s useful for you too, that’s a great byproduct. Proud to be along side Hivetalk as one of the largest brands on nostr who has not been funded by a grant. Our rise has been organic and community driven and built in the open. 💜

I vibed a tool to check all the big relays and as far as it found all those 7 earned a combined $85 from zaps last month. So one Chipotle burrito per person on average. If these folks represent (in some way) the current top earning cohort on nostr then that's a real issue! (Not talking about selling paintings or soap or wine btw, just pure zaps.) The vibe tool could be off, but even so this still goes back to @jb55 's point, there just isn't much potential revenue floating around for creators to tap into. To go from a small group of creators earning a Chipotle burrito per month to even just two or three creators earning an actual living, or even some decent side-gig revenue, would require a truly massive increase in the number of people here.

Maybe, but in perspective this appears to be about where nostr is now in terms of creator earnings.

Increasing the number of people here by 100x is going to take a lot more than patience.
