Having a prepared kit allows you to move fast and focus on prioritizing needs. Spend the time upfront to grant yourself peace of mind. Geographical distribution of metal and sd card backups is key to not putting all your eggs in one basket.

Start thinking adversarial. Plan ahead, your enemies are.

I know that. I should’ve expanded that I think Coinjoin can disrupt the “sticky” and traceability aspects started with KYC

Is there legal precedent for that ownership denial? Or would you mind sharing where you learned that?

boating accidents won’t save you if you are compelled by the state to prove you haven’t spent your sats without paying tax & you claim you lost your keys then the moment you move the sats you could be charged with perjury

I daydream of something like this. A little bigger, EMP protected, a external HD with my files... In case of fire or any event

🎲🎲🎲 adversarial entropy
Yes then everyone knows you must have some serious amounts of #bitcoin. If they introduce capital controls then you are stopped at the border either you give up the stash or spend some time behind bars. And if they size the lot do you have some backup somewhere else for when you come out jail? Just travel with 24 words seed backup hidden among 200.000 words book and a Passphrase sculpted in your brain. Anyone somehow finding your 24 words cannot do anything without reading your brain. Its safer and more effective. You can then buy any Hardware wallet anywhere in the world to restore from seed if you do not want to travel with a blank one to give away your preferences for hard money. Keep it simple is always safer.

Your response is retarded and full of assumptions •you assume the keys are in the devices-an empty cold card and phone prove nothing •there are many reasons to leave your home, including fire •crossing borders is but one reason •you assume i would cross a boarder legally •you assume you can buy a hardware wallet somewhere else •you assume the gear is recognizable •you assume this is the only backup •i do not memorize seeds or pass phrases as those can be coerced out of you You just sound reactionary if not jealous lol

Nothing grabs more attention than this case 😂
I have a small little box where I keep most of that stuff and if it came down to it, I would probably grab that. Only, none of the things in that box have my seed in them currently.
This is a good note, but be careful about your opsec and sharing yoir setup like this. But yes, I have a layered protocol to follow depending on how imminent the threat is. It's very important to use adversarial thinking and have contingency plans in place.

yeah, and then you need some hardware and software to use those twelve words
