Infamous. Following him has cost me a couple mutes of collateral. Been worth it, we get along for some odd reason...most of the time. Don't blame anyone for muting though, he essentially asks for it from a lot of people

New idea/more homework for you. Score should be adjusted somehow by "reach". I suspect Derek or Corn get muted for different reasons than what one might assume
Derek probably gets muted because he contributes to a feed too much for some, or he's "too popular" and it annoys some people that even when they choose not to follow a person they may feel neutral about, they get "forced" to see his stuff via secondary interactions which are pronounced for popular npubs
Final Mute Score ranking chart update. Yes, I have used every available color square emoji. ⬜ Mute Score: Pristine (0) 🟦 Mute Score: Low (1-25) 🟩 Mute Score: Average (26-50) 🟨 Mute Score: Moderate (51-75) 🟧 Mute Score: High (76 - 100) πŸŸ₯ Mute Score: Severe (101 - 200) πŸŸͺ Mute Score: Legendary (201 - 300) 🟫 Mute Score: Shitlisted (301 - 400) ⬛ Mute Score: Blacklisted (401 and up)
Good that you can keep up with him, pretty wholesome actually. As caustic some individuals can be, festering in the dark by themselves is always a worse situation.
Percentage of followers would be a good start, but yeah, getting a somewhat accurate count of followers isn't exactly easy. In any case: neat tool, I like it!
You should make the score comparable with number of followers and following. You can have a user with 100 mutes and have 30k (real) followers and also you can have a user with 100 mutes but only 100 followers. I think the rate is not the same.
Yeah, you could do all sorts of refinements. An obv simple first pass would be to weigh by follower count. Better still by "real" followers (graperank type logic), etc. like Derek has a lot of mutes. Some likely just a volume of exposure thing. Some too from people who may feel neutral about him, but he makes it into their feed anyway with secondary engagement, leads to resentment and a mute. I dunno
The Brainstorm prototype calculates muter count, total and GrapeRank-filtered. Same for followers and reporters. Graph databases make it easy to craft queries like this and to play around with more complex ones. Looks like the Mute-O-Scope casts a wider net in terms of raw data, based on the total muter counts. One of the first decisions of a Brainstorm instance owner/operator will be which relays to draw data from.
Yeah, I have not had the bandwidth to give much love to the front end πŸ˜…. Too much back end stuff to figure out. And we’re looking at rebuilding it from scratch. Want to help? πŸ˜ƒ
Darth, first tell us how many cypherpunks you muted just because they used the forbidden word - Monero - once?
