Looking good!
My video failed to upload so used the url on Primal blossom server.
This is awesome, will give it a try π€
Canβt believe how quickly things are moving along! Awesome!
Power of Nostr to be completely honest!
It may be a good time to remind people to compress their 1080p and 4K videos down to like 720p with Handbrake. So streaming over nostr servers goes smoother for the viewer
Yeah I got mine down to 23MB but could have gone harder.
Nice thinking! Will add a reminder.
Not sure if it's good to put the videos in the 36787 audio kind.
I definitely want music videos on nostube, but with the current format I can not easily filter audio events for video content.
I have uploaded some music videos as kind 21 and 34235:

nostu.be
A modern Nostr video client
It might also make sense du adapt the imeta tags. Maybe even for different audio formats (mp3 / flac) but especially for multiple urls (redundancy). It would also be good to add x tag for blossom sha265.
Have a look a NIP-32 for the L=ISO-639-1 spec to tag languages. That would allow filtering in a standard way.
Great to see we are moving forward on the audio front.
do you see if it has the video tag?
yes, but only after downloading all events. Only the single letter-tags are indexed by the relays. That's why you can do a query e.g. for t=sometag but not for video=something. One would need to download all events and then check client side.
emule also has music, (joke)
yes, if the client also added the video hashtag it would be easier, maybe there will be some false positives
Damn been out of the loop to long. This looks great. ππ
Welcome! Thereβs been some development here!
This is a great idea! So far weβve been implementing Music Tracks spec. Sounds like there are other cool ways to have music sorted!
When you publish RSS does that sit in blossom servers?
If so, how do you modify the feed and keep the same uri?
Itβs not on Blossom servers, itβs fixed to Sunami. We only host media on Blossom and RSS is anchored.
I see. Thanks. I really like what you're doing.
What do you use the host the media?
It's Blossom servers by default. You can also set your own Blossom servers if needed or just use a link your content if it's already hosted elsewhere.

Having trouble uploading a video. It's 190MB, maybe it's my internet, not sure
@Matt Finlay said he had the same trouble, but it worked when he linked the url to the video being hosted elsewhere.

Looks like it's defaulting to Primal on mine
Added a quick reminder
@Joe Martin πΆπ β‘ what kind of internet do you have? is it mobile? any VPNs?
For context we've been testing on relatively high speed internet with different VPN locations.
We wonder if it's geografical as we noticed some odd display of images on different continents.
If you go to artists page you'd find media servers listed
https://sunami.app/studio/settings

We would encourage people to try adding other relays or using workaround like uploading video through other client than referencing a link.
@Strange Love @Matt Finlay in case it's useful.
Trailblazing is hard but it's worth it!
I have found a great client to host stuff on is satellite.earth. That or nostria. You can addnand manage servers
So I reduced the file size to 60MB and it worked this time π€
Awesome, is that just wss://relay.satellite.earth ?
You can't modify of remove content once it's on blossom, right?
I don't believe so. Because its hashed
I don't think so... π€
#asknostr
What I just did was sign into satellite.earth with nostr account and you have a files folder. You need to fund it with btc but its cheap. 5Β’ per GB per month. You upload through it, and you can copy the URL. But if you want to access the server from another client I believe you just input
and it should have access to your files
You can remove it, but canβt change it once itβs up
*input https:// satellite . earth
This is the issue I have with using things like Primal to host music because I dont know how to delete it either.
satellite.earth seems like a nice middle ground imo. Like
@Strange Love said you fund it, upload your stuff and then just use the files url for sites like
@Sunami (Old) or
@Music Side Project 2.0
This is all new ground but has potential.
Sounds like thereβs an opportunity to integrate with other media hostings!
Nice, we will soon add some guidance on limits for existing servers and easier way to manage content. 300mb clearly doesnt work.
Yeah donβt most blossom servers have a file size limit of 100 MB?
This is something
@BITwise π³ >>= RIGHTish and I talked about before.
The permanency of uploading to Nostr Music is what's making me pause on this stuff.
If you know how to access it itβs not permanent. On some clients you can switch access to relays and servers. Nostrils and satellite . earth allow this. Type in the url of the primal blossom of server or whatever server you want to view files you have uploaded to and you can delete them.
Nostria not Nostrils lol
Oh, that's why "how do I manage data in nostrils? " was giving me some strange results π
I don't have my head around Nostr yet.
If I use
@Sunami (Old) to publish music on Nostr Music am I able to remove it?
I havenβt tried yet but I would say yes. I have altered what was put up. I actually slightly update our EP album art to include a graphic of our band name on it.
HAHA!
The desktop version of Nostria is easier to use for this but in the top right there is a menu and a section called media. That will bring up a screen where you can access files stored on servers or made in posts. Also add servers to manage files. Type in the primal blossom servers URL and it should populate you files with everything picture etc posted to primal. You can then delete if you want.
