Zombieland is gritty and funny as hell at the same time. World Warz has good action. Colossus is really cute. With Anne Hathaway. Westworld was good but too short. Raised by Wolves is excellent, but too short.
Soylent Green. Is it a favorite? Maybe not. But it's gritty and it's a classic every sci-fi fan should see.

Finally, someone mentioned the expanse. I was gonna be surprised if nobody mentioned that. It deviates from the books around season 5, but it's still pretty damn good.
The best thing about the Heavy Metal movie was the awesome musical track “True Companion” by Donald Fagan.
