Today, we're launching the completely rebuilt Bitcoin Node app for umbrelOS. It started with a simple question: What if running your own Bitcoin node wasn't just easy, but a genuinely beautiful experience? This is the result.

For example, we completely re-thought the dashboard. Instead of just data, it's designed to give you a calm, clear view of your node's place in the network. You can see blocks arriving, peers connecting, transactions relaying, and your connection to it all, at a glance. It's clarity, not complexity. image
Our goal was to build an experience so fluid and so intuitive, you'll forget you're running one of the most powerful pieces of software in the world. The update is available now in the Umbrel App Store. We hope you like it. 🧡 image

Completely unnecessary IMO. The old UI was so much cleaner. Why the need to include all those extra visual things when you can just run your own mempool.space instance.

Yeah umbrel is a great choice. Used it about a year ago now. I'm sure it's changed a lot

Amazing! Very nice indeed! But why waste time and energy on a GUI application that is supposed to run silently in the background? My time spent in the GUI of this application over the years of its operation is counted in units of minutes at most, and this update has no chance to change that. (Actually I use Knots, but that doesn't change the principle). Why not focus on second external drive support or native UPS support instead? Or on LND (LNDK) and BOLT12 offers support?
Yeah but they didn’t call Bitcoin Knots the Bitcoin Node app. Disingenuous on their part!
I still don’t get it..are you talking about the name of the app? Should be named „Core“ instead of „Node“?
if it worked, updateded in the morning and update didn't go well. I am nodeless now, no real response in github issue - just how you imagine your day to go ...
It looks nice but you should rename it to Bitcoin Core as this is misleading. More and more people are using Knots as their main Bitcoin node.
