Regarding digital ID. To think this will be something you can petition away or try to negotiate is completely naive and missing the point. The government is bankrupt and needs to reset the currency. The only way to do this is to issue a new digital pound which will be replaced 1 for 1 in your bank account, which will be linked to your digital ID. This will reset the government balance sheet, effectively defaulting on its debts (in the old pound) and so it can start again with its reckless deficit spending. If people don't comply and adopt the digital ID they will lose their entitlements, pensions, child benefits etc. If you're employed for a company, you won't be able to get paid etc. Watch how quickly people will bend the knee if it means they can't feed their family or cash their welfare check. There has never been a better time to study bitcoin and nostr, the only tools we can use to have a shot at living in a free society. Onboard your friends, family, local merchants and set up a parallel system that doesn't even recognise the wishes of these power hungry psychopaths. Chanting in the streets with placards won't save you, but running open source software and using privacy tech will. Live free or die.

100% plus they have had this project decades with huge backing like gates and co. And are many steps ahead of any opposition having learned from covid, it will only get worse from here
Yes.
Digital ID isnβt something you can protest away, itβs a currency reset. Comply and be controlled, or build parallel systems with Bitcoin, Nostr, and privacy tech. Live free or die.
This is why Iβm leaving the UK

This agenda will be pushed globally, it's just a matter of time, unfortunately.
The UK seems to be the testing ground. The fight is here. Sad to say pretty much everyone I know will roll over and accept it
People will comply. They have no other chance. Humans have lost the most of their money to the top of the pyramid and so they've made themself more than dependant. Now they are really slaves and will remain it also until it will come to a revolution (No recommendation). But this is the only way out of slavery. Always was. Bitcoin can't and won't safe everybody.
The currency will be inflated, not reset. They want M2 to become M1, the banks will loose their liquidity. So another obstacle for small / regional banks, and another excuse for central banks to expand their balance sheet.
The control aspect is further down the line, only once CBDCs are well established, and under the pretext of some emergency.
Maybe with a competitive stablecoin market, this is less of a risk. Although your savings will be devalued anyways.
I always said: people must learn how to live in private and rebut any "authority" or govID (that is not yours).

"In The Private"
EVERY natural man and woman is born βin the privateβ . Whereas the State is public , and therefore its Public Servants, and its legal fict...
Same end goal either ways
Its an important distinction though. It's not "resetting the balance sheet". Bond holders get paid nominally in printed dollars. Capital controls ramp up.
Exactly! They're not going to launch a new currency at the expense of their reputation. That would never work.
One ray of hope... Blair tried this in the 90s and failed. Maybe it's the issue that unites people? The last major back down any UK gov did was the Poll Tax, 40 years ago. I can see people on the left and right being against this. The Poll Tax riots were pretty full on.
The country of my birth really under the pump
If digital ID is used to stop people from taking their wages or renting their property, there will be violent riots, I reckon. But I totally agree with you: the best solution is ignoring the digital pound while collaborating in the Bitcoin and Nostr community.
Read carefully. If you are excited about the #BTCinDC stuff and not interested in circular economies, read extra carefully. #Bitcoin #Nostr #DigitalID

I disagree, the UK people are too agreeable, soft, docile, conforming and also have state benefits of some kind. Most aren't self employed and rely on someone else for their income. It's all talk, when push comes to shove, they will comply. I've outright asked people who I'd have thought would hold the line on this and not go along with it. They said, if it meant they'd need it to get paid, they would accept it, begrudgingly
I hope you're right, but I think far too many people are dependent on the state and their hand outs now. Also no one in the UK has a backbone anymore
100% agree, however the CBDC will come and citizens wonβt have a choice, salaries will be paid in CBDC no option to get paid in Bitcoin the government will take care of that. Also, most countries have (not yet) a circular economy were transactions in Satβs can be done for daily living, so families will have to go trough difficult times before being able living on a Bitcoin standard. Politicians & bankers same bunch of crooks
I totally agree, but I'm absolutely fatigued of trying to orange or purple pill people around. They already bent the knee, and I'm the who's alienated every time I open my mouth. βπΌβπΌ
Where I'm from, Digital IDs were implemented during covid and hailed as the technological genius our digitizing government has achieved, so it's a lost fight anyway.

I donβt think people are that much different now, other than from information overload, if anything I think the average person is more critical of government than ever. Weβve seen large protests from farmers/free Palestine/anti-immigration. To date these issues have, broadly speaking, attracted either left or right but havenβt galvanised a united front. Personally I think weβre only 1 issue away from major civil unrest. I think back to the Poll Tax because everyone hated it and it kicked off big time, riots, non-payers going to prison etc.
I hope you're right π
Sigh, yes

Some serious shit about to hit the fan
Well, we shall certainly find out soon! I take an optimistic perspective, mainly thanks to Bitcoin and Nostr.
Jeez
Polltax riots were great
I was too young to get involved, just watched on TV but they looked fun.
Covid made me lose all faith, but hope you're right
AI is a statistical engine, already used for ID purposes via surveillance. Israel uses it to target humans in the Middle East, and everywhere else, already. At least overt Digital ID requirements are bringing privacy discussion into the open. Who knows, we might get more people on this platform soon.
Silver lining π
