i am a traditionalist - but i like elevated versions of the classics. this is my menu: Turkey - confit legs - roasted breast Gravy Salmon Mashed Potatoes Stuffing Sweet potatoes Green Bean Cassarole creamed corn kabocha Cranberry Sauce Canned Cranberry Pies Whipped Cream
My grandma always used golden delicious apples in her famous Dutch Apple Pie. YUM. So I did too. My aunt uses honey crisp apples now. And says it’s good. Do I start the fight saying it’s not as good? Or keep my mouth shut Hmm this might actually be more of a family relations question Dr. Awayslice?
i don’t even know if i’ve ever had a honey crisp apple in a baked good. it seems like it wouldn’t break down enough? you should have a pie off.

Honeycrisp break down too much for my liking. If I use them for flavor I’ll mix half and half with another, more robust apple. Granny or something similar. Love Braeburn but those seem hard to find these days.
