Dear #nostrich family, 🫂 Tonight I'm contemplating my #nostr story💜 It feels like the past 2 years, maybe longer, I had been searching for an alternative to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I tried a few things, Mighty Networks, Minds, some other apps that I probably didn't get past signing up for. They all felt like they were the same, just doing things a little differently. Maybe like, recreating the existing crap I was trying to get away from. 💯 In January, 2023, I wrote in my journal that I wanted to start from zero. I wanted to start a completely fresh slate. I couldn't decide if that meant deleting Facebook, starting a new IG account or what that would look like. I questioned if I even wanted to rebuild on platforms that already weren't what I aligned with. 🤔 Roll on February, 2023. My hubby and I were sitting in a cafe in Phu Quoc. Hubby noticed this dude wearing a #bitcoin t-shirt. The lady we were sitting with happened to know the guy and asked if we wanted to meet him. I said, 'of course, I love meeting other Bitcoiners'. 😅 Unbeknown to us, legendary @PABLOF7z and his family were at the worldschool hub which we were sort of also at, but not, because we #unschool. Pablo straight away got talking about Nostr. Something about his enthusiasm gripped me. 🤣 I spent a dayby the pool setting myself up. And I was captivated. I listened to Nostr podcasts. I learned as much as I could. I could see the bigger picture 🤩 Every day here is exciting. I feel like we are building something bigger than ourselves. I'm excited to see all the projects and developments. The different clients, the growth of Lightning. ⚡️ I feel really confident that #nostr was exactly what I was searching for. This was my opportunity to start from zero, with a new protocol that I believe in. All new people, but the right kinds of people. The movers the shakers. The people making shit happen. 💜🧡🎉 I didn't connect with many of you people in my past social media life. And I feel deeply grateful to Pablo and nostr for bringing me here. Because you are my kind of people. I'm so excited to meet many more of you IRL around the world. Maybe it'll be at Bitcoin conferences. Maybe it'll be at Nostr events. But I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for welcoming me. Thank you for being here. Thank you for engaging and encouraging. Thank you for making my transition to this place so awesome. I'm totally excited for what is ahead. And I can't wait to see it evolve with you all 💜💜💜⚡️⚡️⚡️🧡🧡🧡💛💛💛🫂🫂🫂
